  • Sir Ozzy?

    Posted by David Burns

First there was an unsuccessful attempt to name an airport after Ozzy Osbourne in his hometown of Birmingham in England. Now an Australian woman has launched a campaign to have Ozzy knighted.

First of all, it's not so unusual for an Aussie to be concerned with such matters, since Australia is part of the Commonwealth and therefore under the dominion of the Queen, who would be conferring the honor upon Osbourne should the petition reach receptive royal ears.

Secondly, Ozzy is set to visit the antipodes in June when Black Sabbath plays their first shows on Australian soil since the 1970s. So maybe the founder of the petition, Helen Maidotis, is hoping for an audience with the prospective Sir Osbourne to discuss the campaign.

"Ozzy has been an inspiration to many great musicians over the last 40 years," Maidiotis says. "He has taken a lot of young musicians under his wing along the way, from the late and great Randy Rhoads to Zakk Wylde and many others. He is a credit to his country and I believe that a knighthood for Ozzy is one well deserved and long overdue." more on this story

  • Tommy Lee won't do Meet & Greet's?

    Posted by David Burns

Motley Crue's Tommy Lee is refusing to take part in meet-and-greet sessions on the band's current tour – because he doesn't agree with fans forking out for the experience.

The drummer won't be present for those who pay $899 for Crue's Kickstart My Heart ticket package at venues in Australia.

Lee says: "For those of you that are asking why I am not doing any more meet-and-greets – it's got nothing to do with me not wanting to meet the fans.

"I just don't agree with doing it under the certain given circumstances. I love you all and I'll gladly high-five y'all if I see you – and you won't have to pay me for that." more on this story

  • Marijuana Cannon,that is all.

    Posted by David Burns

Police in the border city of Mexicali seized a massive cannon that's used to hurl packets of marijuana across a border fence into California.

Police said the cannon is made from a plastic pipe and a metal tank that used compressed air from the engine of an old car.

The canon fires cylinders packed with drugs.

US border patrol officers told Mexican police that they had been confiscating a bunch of drug packages that were being fired over the border.

  • Oreo seperator machine...why?

    Posted by David Burns

A cookie-loving physicist has created what seems to be the world's first Oreo separator.

The artist and inventor from Oregon was commissioned by the cookie brand to make the machine as part of its "Cookies vs. Creme" campaign.

He calls it the "OSM" and made it in his garage out of scrap aluminum, wood, a hatchet and floss. It took about two weeks to build.

Here's how it worksAfter the hatchet blade is lowered to split the Oreo, a pair of mechanical arms collect the cookie halves, then send them to a router table where the creme is removed.

Three other inventors were commissioned by Oreo to come up with concepts. The next one is being unveiled this week.

  • Gary Thompson is a scum bag!

    Posted by David Burns

A Texas man pretends to be mentally and physically handicapped and earns up to $100,000 a year begging.

Gary Thompson panhandles in Lexington, Kentucky in a wheelchair  he claims he needs because he has problems walking, but he was busted by the local news station.

He is fully able to walk and he doesn't actually talk with the speech impediment he uses when begging for bucks.
Originally from Texas, the guy was awarded a $2.4 million in a lawsuit following a 1993 motorcycle accident, and he claims he and his family spent all of the money. He tells his sob story to strangers on the street, and he bragged about it to the TV station.

He admits, "Yeah, I'm really good at it, really good. I clear about $100,000 dollars a year doing this. Anything from $60,0000 to $100,00 dollars."

The man has a degree in speech pathology, which he said gave him the background to imitate a mentally challenged person.

Her dad owns the parlor where his daughter is learning the ropes and practicing the art. Her dad has been practicing tattoos since he was 14 years old.

At the rate his daughter is learning, she should be doing tattoos on her own by the time she is twelve years old.
