In a recent interview with a French radio station, Adele revealed that she’d like to collaborate with Beyonce. The British singer gushed, "I adore Beyonce, I've been listening to her since I was about 11. I think her work as an artist and a singer is enviable in terms of the length of her career and how she's grown and grown, but most of my inspirations are [from] old music and sadly they have all died." Adele also revealed plans to release a new song by the end of the year. We’ll be sure to keep you posted.

LIONEL RICHIE TOPS THE COUNTRY CHARTS WITH TUSKEGEE

Lionel Richie has taken over the country charts as his duets album, Tuskegee, lands at number one. The legend got together with some of country’s biggest stars like Blake Shelton, Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts, Shania Twain and Jason Aldean to return to his roots and revamp some of his biggest hits. For Lionel, making the album was like a homecoming. The Band Perry, Lady Antebellum, Martina McBride, Tim McGraw and many others will pay tribute to Lionel during ACM Presents: Lionel Richie and Friends, airing April 13th on CBS.

CARRIE UNDERWOOD AN IDOL GIRL ALL THE WAY”

Carrie Underwood had a great time working with Simon Cowell during their stint on American Idol, but she says she’s not interested in joining him on the judging panel on his new show X Factor anytime soon. BEATLES: THE NEXT GENERATION?

Could there be a Beatles: The Next Generation?  Possibly!  Paul McCartney’s son James recently told the BBC that he is interested in collaborating with the sons of his dad’s Beatles bandmates.  James said, “Maybe [Ringo Starr’s son] Jason would want to do it.  I’d be up for it.  [John Lennon’s son] Sean seemed to be into it, [George Harrison’s son] Dhani seemed to be into it.  I’d be happy to do it.”  James is very much into the Beatles right now.  He’ll soon perform at their old stomping grounds, Liverpool’s Cavern Club, and explained that he wants to “just embrace the Beatles legacy rather than running away from it.”  Read more at BBC.co.uk.

    • TIDBIT: James previously collaborated with his father in the past, playing guitar on Paul’s albums Flaming Pie and Driving Rain.  Meanwhile, Paul produced his son’s two EPs.
    • TIDBIT: James said that Ringo’s other son, Zak, didn’t seem like he would want to take part in the band.

BRAD WHITFORD DESCRIBES AEROSMITH’S NEW ALBUM

In just a few months, Aerosmith will release their first album in eight years.  While there aren’t too many details out about the record yet, the band members have said it sounds a lot like the music they made in the ‘70s.  Guitarist Brad Whitford spoke to ClassicRockRevisited.com about that old-school sound, saying, “There is more of that on the new album.  It is not as much as I would like, as I would have preferred to do it old school.”  Brad added, “For the most part, the band recorded live.  There is more of a tip of the hat to the old approach.”  Whitford also called himself the “peacemaker” when it comes to helping to move the band forward if they stall over what he calls “silly stuff.”  Read more at ClassicRockRevisited.com.

    • TIDBIT: Brad also said he no longer cares that fellow Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry gets more attention than him, explaining, “The people that appreciate it and really know me realize my contributions and that is all that I’m really concerned about.  I am there for my fans and they know what I do.”

NEW MUSIC: GARBAGE TALK NOT YOUR KIND OF PEOPLE

Garbage frontwoman Shirley Manson says the band’s upcoming new album was inspired by David Bowie, Siouxsie Sioux and Cocteau Twins. In a recent live interview on UStream the band debuted their video for “Blood For Poppies” as well as answered questions from fans. Manson also spoke about what the band has been doing since their 2005 album Bleed Like Me saying, “I don't really know what I've been doing… We spent our time living life, then [we were] ready to record a record and here we are!" Not Your Kind of People is the new album from Garbage and it is out on May 15th.

  • 2 Fishing Openers?

    Posted by Justin Henriksen

(St. Paul, MN)  --  The Minnesota House voted Tuesday to start Minnesota's fishing season one week earlier this year, on May 5th, because of the unusually early spring.  Crane Lake Democrat David Dill says it would not change the date of the official Fishing Opener, which is May 12th, but would allow "a bonus week of fishing."  But Mayer Republican Ernie Leidiger (LIE'-dih-ger) warns changing the season such a short time in advance will affect a lot of activities planned for the Opener.  But Balsam Township Democrat Tom Anzelc (ANN'-zells) voted to start fishing season one week earlier, saying "come north, spend money, have a good time."

THE FRAY INTENTIONALLY CHANGED IT UP

The Fray have been catching some flak for their rendition of the National Anthem at the Final Four Championship Monday night. People are saying the band put too much of their own spin on the classic song. We’re not surprised The Fray tried something new – singer Isaac Slade told us they also changed things up when they recorded their latest album, Scars & Stories. Brendan O’Brien has produced acts like Bob Dylan, AC/DC, Train and more. The Fray’s Scars & Stories is out now.

That's a huge, huge role, and whoever does it has to do a good job."

According to TMZ, Britney Spears has sold her Beverly Hills home for $4,253,000. The singer’s original asking price was a little under three-million bucks, expecting multiple bids from potential buyers and it looks like Spears’ expectations were beyond met after accepting the final offer. IN THE STUDIO: GREEN DAY POST ANOTHER VIDEO!

Green Day has posted yet another video from the studio. The band has been recording short video vignettes from their recording studio in Oakland, California where they are making their ninth studio album. MUMFORD AND SONS SAY NEW ALBUM ISN’T “DOOM FOLK” AND MIGHT NOT RELEASE TILL NEXT YEAR

It seems that Mumford and Sons’ upcoming album will not sound like “doom folk.” Singer Marcus Mumford tells NME that the band was just kidding when they used the description and says, “That was a joke to an American journalist who didn't understand the concept of sarcasm. I called Ted [Dwane, double bassist] and was like, 'Ted, what have you done? We spent our whole first album trying to avoid being pigeonholed!'” The new Mumford and Sons album was expected to come out later this year, but Marcus admits they are taking their time, “We don't want to put that added pressure on ourselves. Everyone's just letting us get on with it.” Marcus revealed that the only people who have heard their new music is producer Markus Dravs and their manager. We’ll be sure to let you know when the guys decide to release the record!

AMY WINEHOUSE’S EX-HUSBAND GETS NOTHING FROM HER WILL

According to the Associated Press, Amy Winehouse’s ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil will not receive anything from the late singer’s will. Winehouse left no formal will when she passed away in June and therefore all of her assets will be left to her parents. It is estimated that they will receive over $5 million. Her parents have yet to comment, but Amy’s dad, Mitch, has set up a non-profit organization in her name, and it is likely that the proceeds from her estate will benefit the charity.

    MADONNA: TOO HOT FOR TV

Madonna has been a controversial pop culture icon ever since the release of her 1984 studio album, Like A Virgin. Her racy antics have gotten her into plenty of hot water in the past, and it seems like that’s not about to change anytime soon. In fact, ABC is demanding that the singer’s new commercial promoting her fragrance, Truth or Dare, be digitally altered to censor the pop diva’s cleavage and butt. Set to the second single released off of MDMA, “Girl Gone Wild,” the 30-second spot features images of Madonna posing suggestively in her underwear. Think of it as the somewhat tamer older cousin to the sensational “Justify My Love” video.

It seems each year, at least one musician dies from drug-related issues, and Elton John is now saying he was almost one of them.  The Rocket Man told E! News that if he didn’t quit drugs in 1990, he’d “probably be dead.”  The singer explained, “I didn’t want to end up like Whitney Houston and I could so easily have ended up like her.  It’s a miracle I didn’t because I’m sure I did as much cocaine as she ever did.”  Read more at EOnline.com.

    • TIDBIT: Whitney Houston was found dead in a bathtub in February.  The autopsy turned up cocaine in the singer’s system and the L-A coroner stated that she was a chronic user of the drug.

Stupid, stupid Canadians.  A Canadian model named Jenna Talackova has been banned from competing for Miss Universe Canada . . . because it turns out she was BORN A MAN.  She had gender reassignment surgery when she was 19, and is legally female.  But the pageant rules state you have to be a "naturally-born female" . . . so she's out.  That decision has already started drawing protests.

What do you think?  Should she / he / shim be allowed to be crowned Miss Universe?

“I’ve got no regrets.  Everything that came my way has cut me into what I am today and what I am today is a grateful recovering drug addict-alcoholic.  I’m not without my faults and my marks and my scars.  I’m proud of them, I show people them, I have for 40 years, that’s why they love my music because I’m honest and I’ve got no regrets!”

Marcus Mumford recently spoke to NME about the trek and says, “If you're out to make cash dollar, renting 12 vintage train cars to tour is probably not the best way to do it. And also inviting all your mates! There were 130 people on the train." Marcus reveals that the accommodations on the train were quite fancy, “Luxury. Each carriage had its own concierge, they were like butlers. They'd make your bed and steam your shirts. It was Orient Express kind of stuff."

    KATY PERRY TEASES NEW SONGS!

Later this month, Katy Perry will release Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection.  The singer has teased two new tracks off the effort, “Wide Awake,” and “Dressin’ Up.”  The mid-tempo track "Wide Awake" is all about the empowerment one feels after letting go of someone.  The other teased track, "Dressin' Up," was produced by Tricky Stewart and is a synth-heavy dance song.  Perry releases Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection on March 27th

    • QUOTE: Katy Perry on why she wanted to release the expanded Teenage Dream album: "With Teenage Dream, the reasons why I wanted to put out this special edition, Complete Confection, is two major reasons for me: One, I'm doing it mostly for the hard-core fans because they always love all the extras.  The second reason I wanted to do it is because it's my one last push, to push that person that is on the precipice of becoming a fan. They're thinking to themselves, 'I bought four or five singles, maybe I should actually complete my album and now I should really complete my album because I'm gonna get 19 songs for a really great price.' I think it's like a bargain and I'm doing it for my fans."

Madonna will release her video for “Girl Gone Wild” on Tuesday.  The clip, shot in black and white, is fast-paced and features the singer grinding, smoking, and being her usual sexy self while clad in chains and latex. ADELE FALLS TO NUMBER TWO BEHIND BRUCE

After 10 straight weeks at number one and 23 non-consecutive weeks on top of the Billboard album chart, Adele has slipped to number two, behind Bruce Springsteen’s new album, Wrecking Ball.  The Boss’ latest record sold nearly 196-thosuand copies, just over 13-hunderd more copies than 21 sold.  Adele’s 21 has sold over eight-million copies since its release 55 weeks ago.

21 FACTS, ACCORDING TO MTV NEWS:

    • Adele’s 23 non-consecutive weeks at number one puts her just one week short of the chart record held by two classic soundtracks: Prince's Purple Rain and Saturday Night Fever.
    • Though she'll have to start over now, Adele was closing in on another all-time chart record: the most consecutive weeks at number one by an album by a female solo act. That record still belongs to Carole King's Tapestry, which did it back in 1971 by running the board for 15 weeks. Whitney Houston's Bodyguard soundtrack actually stayed in the top spot for 20 consecutive weeks, but that was not strictly a solo album.
    • Adele absolutely destroyed the record for the biggest post-GRAMMY sales boost in history when 21 moved 733-thosuand copies the week after she took home six awards back in February.
    • The last album to hold the number one spot before Springsteen took it was Michael Bublé's Christmas, which edged out Adele during the week ending December 25th. So far, she's sold more than eight-million copies of 21, including more than two-million in 2012 alone.
    • During the course of her 55-week run on the charts, Adele has only fallen out of the top five once. In fact, she's been in the number one or number two spot in all but 17 of those weeks.

THE BLACK KEYS DON’T LIKE PERFECT MUSIC

Is music too polished these days? The Black Keys certainly think so. Drummer Patrick Carney tells Canadian outlet Jam.CA that he feels music that is too perfect is “boring” and that people have lost an ear for rougher music. Carney feels like rock acts today are making elevator music but stated everyone has it in them to make cooler sounds saying, “Everybody has it but you've got to exercise it.” Carney made his point using the history of rock and roll explaining, “When you turn on the radio it's all kind of perfectly sequenced, perfectly written, perfectly performed by machines. It's hard not to listen to The Who and really understand these are wild men going crazy or Led Zeppelin – these are human beings that play that, it's all hard to kind of put that in perspective. We just try to make music what we love to make and have fun."

BILLY CORGAN SAYS MUSIC IS FULL OF POSERS

Not to be respected - not to be dangerous." Billy will be releasing the new Smashing Pumpkins album Oceania later this year.

RIHANNA’S FORMER PASTOR ENCOURAGES HER TO SPEND TIME IN CHURCH

Rihanna’s former pastor in Barbados, Bishop Vibert Lowe, has some words of wisdom for the songstress, who was once a faithful member of his church.  According to TheUrbanDaily.com, Bishop Lowe told The Sun that “a lot of people have been praying for her and hoping that she will drop these bad habits. We feel it’s wrong for her to behave like this.”  He goes on to say that “there are people on the island who think she parties way too hard.”  As far as Chris Brown is concerned, the Bishop believes that RiRi should stay clear of him because he sees him as a bad influence on her life.  Although he encourages Rihanna to spend more time in church next time she’s in Barbados, she probably won’t be visiting his anymore.

    MADONNA GIVES ADVICE TO ADELE

Madonna has dealt with just about everything in her 33 year career and she’s imparting some of her wisdom to Adele. Madge said that the most important thing for Adele to remember is that she must learn how to sustain herself and keep her integrity and her inner strength. We think those are smart lessons for just about everybody.

    • DIRECT QUOTE: “Adele's a great talent and how much she weighs has nothing to do with it. The thing for Adele to remember is at the end of the day, whether you rise or fall, it has so much to do with how you sustain yourself and keep your integrity and your inner strength.”
    • TIDBIT: Back in February, Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld said of Adele, “The thing at the moment is Adele. She is a little too fat, but she has a beautiful face and a divine voice.” What do you think of his comments?

This week, previews begin on Broadway for the musical based on the 1990 Patrick Swayze film Ghost, about a man who is killed in a botched mugging but stays around as a ghost because of his love for his girlfriend.  Eurythimcs and SuperHeavy member Dave Stewart co-wrote the songs for the production and spoke to us about his connection to the story in the play and the film.

The previews begin on Thursday with the show premiering later next month.  Get tickets and learn more at GhostOnBroadway.com.

    • TIDBIT: Stewart wrote the music with producer Glen Ballard.  The script was written by Bruce Joel Rubin, who penned the original screenplay.

This isn’t a f**king Fray show!”  NME reports that Isaac admits their crowd is tame, “All I could do was laugh because that’s true- we do have a very thoughtful, sensitive crowd who don’t get to dance much. Still, I’ll pay Brandon back for picking on our fans. Next time I see him I’ll have to punch him in the mouth.” The Killers are currently working on a new album, which is due out later this year.

It's really exciting for me, 'cause I'm able to break out of my shell and show my fans what I'm all about and show other people who might not like my music that maybe they can like my music. I'm not trying to lose any of my young fans.  I'm just trying to gain fans, and I think that's the best way to do it. Rather than try to grow up and lose your fans, you can get better and evolve and gain respect from more people."
