BEATLES: THE NEXT GENERATION?
Could there be a Beatles: The Next Generation? Possibly! Paul McCartney’s son James recently told the BBC that he is interested in collaborating with the sons of his dad’s Beatles bandmates. James said, “Maybe [Ringo Starr’s son] Jason would want to do it. I’d be up for it. [John Lennon’s son] Sean seemed to be into it, [George Harrison’s son] Dhani seemed to be into it. I’d be happy to do it.” James is very much into the Beatles right now. He’ll soon perform at their old stomping grounds, Liverpool’s Cavern Club, and explained that he wants to “just embrace the Beatles legacy rather than running away from it.” Read more at BBC.co.uk.

Guitarist Brad Whitford spoke to ClassicRockRevisited.com about that old-school sound, saying, “There is more of that on the new album. It is not as much as I would like, as I would have preferred to do it old school.” Brad added, “For the most part, the band recorded live. There is more of a tip of the hat to the old approach.” Whitford also called himself the “peacemaker” when it comes to helping to move the band forward if they stall over what he calls “silly stuff.” Read more at ClassicRockRevisited.com.
- TIDBIT: Brad also said he no longer cares that fellow Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry gets more attention than him, explaining, “The people that appreciate it and really know me realize my contributions and that is all that I’m really concerned about. I am there for my fans and they know what I do.”
