    Lady Gaga’s new single “Telephone” has gone to number one on the Billboard Pop chart, giving the pop star her sixth single in a row to top that chart.     Jessica Simpson went on The Oprah Winfrey Show on Wednesday, and she really opened up about John Mayer referring to her as “sexual napalm.” Simpson told the talk show queen that she was “disappointed in him” and that he did apologize to her, but she won’t accept it.     The Black Eyed hold down the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for a second week with "Imma Be." Young Money moves up to number two with “BedRock,” and Lady Antebellum’s “Need You Now" climbs two notches to number three. Ke$ha’s "TiK ToK" drops two spots to number four, while Lady Gaga slides one space to number five with "Bad Romance."




    Some new information about the status of the Pussycat Dolls has finally been revealed. According to an interview with MTV News, lead singer Nicole Scherzinger said that there will be a “new cast” of ladies joining her in the Dolls, and that she’s “excited” about it. She also gave an update on the status of a new PCD album, saying that fans can expect it “late this year.” Learn more at




    CMT, MTV and VH1 are bringing back the award-winning music series Unplugged with eight new episodes, which will begin rolling out online on March 10th with VH1’s Unplugged: Adam Lambert. Upcoming Unplugged episodes include sets from Phoenix, The Script and Reba McEntire.




    On Tuesday, Weezer will make an unusual appearance on the kids show Yo Gabba Gabba. The band will be performing a track titled “All My Friends Are Insects” on the “Bug” episode. The show will also feature a special remix from Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker. Details are at now.




    The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony takes place on the 15th in New York City, and the Hall has just announced who will be performing at the event. Chris Isaak, Faith Hill, Ronnie Spector and Maroon 5’s Adam Levine are among the musicians who will take the stage. This year’s inductees include Genesis, The Hollies, The Stooges and ABBA.     Footage of John Lennon is currently appearing in a car ad overseas and the Beatle’s son Sean has responded to criticism and explained why his mom, Yoko Ono, allowed the material to be used. On his Twitter site, Sean wrote that it had nothing to do with money, rather they wanted to keep John in the public eye.     DON’T TAZE BLANKET, BRO! According to TMZ, Jermaine Jackson’s 13-year-old son Jaafar ordered a stun gun online and tried to taze Michael Jackson’s youngest son, Prince Michael Jackson the second, a-k-a “Blanket.” Security guards took away the stun gun before “Blanket” was tazed.


    BRITTANY MURPHY’S WILL! According to, Brittany Murphy’s will leaves everything in her estate to her mother, Sharon. According to TMZ, Murphy’s husband, Simon Monjack, is not surprised about being left out of her will. Monjack told the outlet he asked Brittany to leave him out altogether.


    IN RELATED NEWS! Brittany Murphy’s mother Sharon has put her house up for sale. This is the same place where Brittany died on December 20th. The eight-thousand square-foot house is listed for 7.25-million dollars and is in Hollywood Hills. Britney Spears was the previous owner of the mansion.

    ANDREW KOENIG’S PRIVATE CEREMONY! Growing Pains actor Andrew Koenig will be remembered by his family and friends in a private memorial service taking place soon in California. According to, people invited to the service are being asked to keep the details private. The 41-year-old actor was found dead last Thursday of an apparent suicide.


    PATTINSON & STEWART’S PDA? According to the New York Daily News, New Moon stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were seen showing some public displays of affection Monday night in New York City. The two stars, who have consistently denied that they are dating, were seen at a bar sitting very close to each other, touching and rubbing each other’s arms.


    MORE OSCAR PRESENTERS! Gerard Butler, Bradley Cooper, Tom Ford, Jake Gyllenhaal, Chris Pine, Keanu Reeves, Ryan Reynolds and Sam Worthington will present at the 82nd Academy Awards. Everyone but Jake and Keanu will be making their debut appearance on the Oscar stage; It will be Gyllenhaal’s third appearance and Reeves’s fifth. They join Oscar-winners Kathy Bates, Barbra Streisand, Charlize Theron, Sean Penn, Kate Winslett and Penélope Cruz, as well as former Oscar nominees Robert Downey, Jr., Samuel L. Jackson, Queen Latifah and John Travolta, as well as many others, as presenters. The 82nd Academy Awards will be handed out on this Sunday at the Kodak Theatre and will be televised live on ABC at 7 PM.

    Lifehouse’s brand new album, Smoke & Mirrors, hit shelves yesterday, and the band had a very good first day. The effort was number one at iTunes, and the group went on Twitter to thank their fans for this honor. Chris Daughtry also wrote on the social networking site that he already picked up the album and it is “killer music.” Smoke & Mirrors is in stores now.




    Is Lady Gaga going to influence a major character in the upcoming film The Greatest Muppet Movie Ever Made? According to, the movie, which is being penned by Forgetting Sarah Marshall star Jason Segel, is going to give different takes on many of the classic Muppets, and a source told the Web site that Jason’s idea for “Miss Piggy” is that she “ends up becoming like a Lady Gaga-esque character living in Europe.” No word yet on when the new Muppets movie will begin filming.




    John Mayer apologized to the crowd before one of his shows in New York City last weekend for comments that he made in Playboy magazine, saying he doesn’t want to be looked at as a bad guy. But the New York Daily News is saying that the singer-songwriter hasn’t cleaned up his act quite yet. A source told the paper that Mayer went out to a club this weekend and “was drinking and saying vulgar things to the girls at the bar.” The source went on to say, “He was hitting on one pretty brunette in particular, but she found him slimy because he was being so over-the-top.” Read more at

    Jason Mraz has had his Twitter account hacked! A post over the weekend promised people the chance to be in the singer-songwriter’s next video if they took an IQ test and beat Mraz’s supposed score. A post was quickly put on his official Facebook page, saying, “IMPORTANT, someone has hacked into Jason’s Twitter account. Don't believe anything that is tweeted until we have access back into the account!” Mraz still has not written on his Twitter since the incident.

    PETA POKES FUN AT TIGER! PETA gets their topical humor on in a new ad featuring Tiger Woods’ image. On the billboard, sponsored by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, the organization has the text “Too Much Sex Can Be a Bad Thing.” The ad then goes on to say that that goes for your pets too and urges owners of cats and dogs to spay and neuter their pets.     BACHELOR CAST-OFF SEX TAPE? Rozlyn Papa made a name for herself on this season of The Bachelor by allegedly having an affair with a producer on the show and getting kicked off, and now, according to TMZ, someone is shopping around a sex tape starring Papa. A porn industry rep who claims to have seen the tape told TMZ, “It’s definitely Rozlyn,” and added that in it, she performs “one sexual act with a well-endowed gentleman.” Papa’s spokesperson stated the reality star has “no knowledge of any tape.”


    CRYER SUPPORTS SHEEN! Jon Cryer is supporting his Two and a Half Men co-star, Charlie Sheen, as best he can. Sheen has checked himself into rehab so production on the series has come to a halt, causing some staffers to fear for their jobs. TMZ reports Cryer told employees, “The important thing is Charlie gets healthy.” Production is expected to resume in a couple of weeks.


    KOENIG’S PARENTS WALK OUT ON LARRY KING! The parents of missing sitcom actor Andrew Koenig reportedly walked out before their appearance on Larry King Live this week because they claim they were being disrespected. reports that Star Trek star Walter Koenig said their interview time kept getting pushed back and there wouldn’t have been “enough time to do credit to what we had to say.” Their portion of the show was pre-empted by the breaking Sea World killer whale story and after 25 minutes, the Koenigs asked the live TV film crew to leave their Vancouver hotel room.


    CONAN’S TWITTER SHOW! Conan O’Brien has joined the Twitter community and his first message was a plea for a job. His very first tweet on the social networking site was, “Today I interviewed a squirrel in my backyard and then threw to commercial. Somebody help me.” That was all it took for him to get a whopping 250-thousand followers in less than a day. In the meantime, rumors are circulating that Conan is planning a national tour.


    EBERT ON OPRAH! Film critic Roger Ebert will be sitting down for his first televised interview since he lost his ability to speak – and it will be with none other than Oprah Winfrey. According to, Ebert will do the interview with the assistance of a text-to-speech computer program. It airs next week.


    “PANTS ON THE GROUND” GOES TO VEGAS! The man who gained popularity for his song “Pants On the Ground” is Las Vegas bound. According to TMZ, Larry Platt from American Idol is scheduled to perform tonight at JET nightclub in the Mirage Hotel. In addition, Platt will fly first class and receive thousands of dollars for his big show. His rep confirmed this gig will be the first of many.


    WHO IS REESE DATING? Is Reese Witherspoon dating a Hollywood agent? According to, the actress is seeing agent Jim Toth, but a source tells the Web site that the pair are not “exclusive” and are taking it very slow. The insider goes on to say that Witherspoon, who split from ex-boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal last year, is yet to show any serious PDA and that all kissing that’s been done has looked very friendly.


    DROP OUT! The Hangover star Bradley Cooper has dropped out of the upcoming spy flick This Means War. According to Hollywood Insider, Cooper had to drop out of the movie, in which he was set to star opposite Reese Witherspoon, so he could film The Hangover 2.

    Could we soon be seeing a collaboration between Lady Gaga and Rihanna? Well if it was up to the “Umbrella” singer we sure might. According to, Rihanna said that a duet between the two would be “really cool” and that she’s sure that the song would have “a hot video.” Ri-Ri also mentioned Taylor Swift as someone she could see herself working with.




    Lady Gaga recently took an AIDS test and the pop star is urging all her fans to do the same. In an interview with, the “Bad Romance” singer said that because she’s on the road so much, she doesn’t often get to see the doctor as much as she’d like to, but since she had a couple of days off in New York City, she went to see her gynecologist and got tested.




    John Mayer’s been taking a lot of heat lately, but he’s not entirely a bad guy! The “Daughters” singer made an 11-year-old fan’s day when he pulled him up on stage to play the song “Belief,” gave the kid a guitar, and then told the crowd “that’s my man.” The child’s mother wrote a note to John’s management team, thanking the singer-songwriter and saying he made her son’s “dreams come true.” See the video on YouTube now.




    A video of a 13-year-old Ke$ha has popped up online. The clip features the “Tik Tok” singer as a middle schooler singing Radiohead’s “Karma Police” in a school talent show. The young musician is rocking her natural brunette hair color, a far cry from her current blonde locks.






    Muse took home two awards at this week’s NME Music Awards. The group won Best British Band and Best Web Site at Wednesday’s awards show.     Clay Aiken came out as gay just over a year ago, and now the former American Idol runner-up is speaking at a gay-rights rally in his hometown. According to the Associated Press, Aiken will be making a speech over the weekend in Raleigh, North Carolina, trying to urge Americans to support equal rights for all. Aiken also told the AP that it’s even more important to him now because he’s a parent and wants his son to grow up in a world where everyone is treated fairly.




    The Black Eyed Peas hit the stage at Madison Square Garden in New York City Wednesday night. Just before the group performed, David Guetta stirred things up as a surprise guest. The DJ announced to the crowd that he arrived from Paris to make it to the concert. He cued up his Kelly Rowland-assisted song "When Love Takes Over" and walked off, still on his turntables, as a crew collected his equipment and pulled Guetta offstage while the music was still playing. Ludacris and LMFAO helped kick things off prior to that. The rowdy "I'm in Miami, Trick" party rockers did a brief set, including their hot track "Shots." Ludacris pulled out a number of hits throughout his set, from "Move" to "Stand Up." The Peas opened the show with “Let’s Get It Started” and steam-rolled through hits like “I Gotta Feeling,” “Boom Boom Pow” and their latest, “Imma Be.”

    Lily Allen has been saying for a while that she intends to take a break from music after next month, and now the “Smile” singer explains that she could be gone for up to five years! Allen spoke at the NME Awards in England on Wednesday, saying that she will “maybe” make another album in five years, and wants to use this time to possibly have children. Learn more at




    Macy Gray is reportedly putting the finishing touches on her upcoming album, tentatively titled The Sellout. Fans can expect the GRAMMY Award-winner’s first disc in over three years to include collaborations with T.I., Bobby Brown, Slash, Duff McKagan and many others. In a statement, Gray revealed that the project “tells the story of how I found my salvation in just being myself instead of who other people thought I should be.” The LP will officially hit stores on May 8th.

    Well after a rocky patch, it seems all is well with Aerosmith. The band has announced their Cocked, Loaded and Ready to Rock Tour, which will take place overseas this summer. It kicks off on June 10th at the Sweden Rock Festival and runs through July 3rd when it wraps at Italy’s Venice Festival. No word yet if the guys will be playing in America this year but you can see a video of the band announcing the tour on YouTube. In it, singer Steven Tyler says, “I just auditioned and I got the gig,” referencing the fact that the band was considering new singers to replace him while he took time off.     IDOL CASTOFF WON’T GIVE UP! American Idol producers booted Chris Golightly because of a previous contract he’d signed, rendering him ineligible to continue in the competition. Golightly has forcefully denied that the contract was still in place when he tried out for the reality show, and now his former manager, Lawrence Franklin of Dream Projects Entertainment, has released a statement and given an interview to The Los Angeles Times in which he disputes Golightly’s account and says the singer re-upped his contract with boy band Dream 5 in the spring of 2009, only months before his Idol tryout. Golightly held a press conference on Tuesday outside a Hollywood club where he again stated that his contract with Dream Projects Entertainment had ended prior to Idol.


    IDOL BEATS THE OLYMPICS! FOX’s two-hour American Idol beat NBC’s coverage of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics on Tuesday night. According to preliminary numbers from Nielsen, Idol averaged 24-million viewers overall, while the Olympics had 22.1-million viewers overall. ABC’s Lost scored just under ten-million viewers, up slightly from last week.


    KIEFER OKAY’D FOR 24! After having an outpatient surgical procedure, Kiefer Sutherland has gotten the all-clear from his doctor to return to work. People reports that the actor had a ruptured cyst treated two weeks ago and he is expected back on the set March 1st.


    LOST STAR CHEATS WITH STRIPPER? According to the National Enquirer, Lost star Matthew Fox is being accused of allegedly cheating on his wife with a stripper. Apparently, the actor hooked up with a 26-year-old woman named Stefani Talbott from Stars Cabaret club in Bend, Oregon. Further, a cab driver claims the pair were “kissing and hugging each other” in the back of his taxi just before dropping them off at Talbott’s place on December 29th. Fox has reportedly denied these claims.


    MOVIE PIRATE GETS TWO YEARS! Robert Henderson, who pleaded guilty last October to recording The Dark Night at a movie theater and selling it on DVD, has been sentenced to two years in a federal prison. According to, the movie pirate will also have to pay a fine of nearly 25-thousand dollars. A spokesperson for the Motion Picture Association of America called the sentence “appropriate” and hopes it will “serve as a warning to would-be movie thieves.”


    ESPN HOST SUSPENDED! Tony Kornheiser, co-host of the ESPN talk show Pardon The Interruption, has been suspended by the sports network due to comments deemed inappropriate about a female co-worker. According to the New York Post, Kornheiser insulted SportsCenter anchor Hannah Storm, saying that an outfit she was wearing made her look she had “sausage casing wrapping around her upper body.” Kornheiser then apologized for his comments on his radio show, but ESPN still announced that he is being suspended for two weeks


    OLE MISS’ STAR WARS MASCOT! Ole Miss are known as the Rebels but the school plans to drop their old mascot, “Colonel Reb,” for something a little more updated. The student body voted on their favorite replacement and it is “Admiral Ackbar,” the Supreme Commander of the Rebel Alliance fleet from Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.     There is a popular fan page on Facebook called Can This Pickle Get More Fans than Nickelback. Well apparently it can, and frontman Chad Kroeger is none too pleased about it. is reporting that Chad himself wrote to Coral Anne, the founder of the group on the social networking site, threatening to close the page in two weeks. Anne then responded by writing, “Still whooped your ass, Chad.” No word on if it’s actually Chad writing these things or if it’s just someone posing as the singer. Learn more at




    Train performed some acoustic versions of some of their songs for Head to that Web site now to watch some intimate versions played by the San Francisco band, including their hits “Hey Soul Sister” and “Drops of Jupiter.”




    Jessica Simpson will be making an appearance in the coming weeks on the Oprah Winfrey Show. is reporting that the singer has been booked for the hit daytime program, but a specific date hasn’t been set yet. Rumors have been flying that this means Jessica will finally talk about the comments John Mayer made about her in his now infamous interview with Playboy, but neither Simpson’s or Winfrey’s camps would say which topics will be discussed.

    Third Eye Blind guitarist Tony Fredianelli is suing the band. According to, the axe-man says that he wasn’t given song writing credit on four tunes on their latest album Ursa Major and that he hasn’t been able to collect any publishing money for his work on the record.     Muse bassist Chris Wolstenholme is upset that their new songs won’t be heard on free streaming services on the Internet. The British band is on Warner Music and that label has stated that their artists’ music will no longer be available on free streaming sites, as those sites are “not positive for the industry.” The Muse member told the BBC that denying streaming is like taking their songs off the radio.     According to, the Black Eyed Peas are taking the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus on the road. The bus is a non-profit mobile recording and multimedia studio that has joined the Peas’ tour until April 10th. Fergie recorded her hit "Fergalicious" and other solo songs on the mobile studio. It will not only serve as the official recording studio for the Peas, but will also be available for upcoming student projects in cities visited by the Peas while they tour. Lennon Bus on-board engineers will work with the students to help produce the projects. The students will then be granted access to see the Peas perform.




    The soundtrack for the upcoming movie Hot Tub Time Machine, which features John Cusack and Craig Robinson, will be available on March 23rd, and it features some pretty big names. According to a press release, some of the bands and singers on the disc include Men Without Hats, INXS, David Bowie, the English Beat and even a version of “Jessie’s Girl” performed by The Office star Robinson. Hot Tub Time Machine hits theaters on March 26th.
