TIGER WOODS TO FINALLY SPEAK PUBLICLY! According to the PGA Tour’s Web site, Tiger Woods will at last break his silence and speak at a press conference. The Boston Globe reports Tiger will read a statement where he will ask for forgiveness for his behavior and will discuss his future plans. The conference will be held tomorrow morning at 10 AM at the Sawgrass Clubhouse in Ponte Verde, Florida. At the press conference, the golf pro will speak with a handful of friends and colleagues, but no questions will be asked by the media.
CHARLIE SHEEN TO REHAB! According to www.RadarOnline.com, Charlie Sheen is being told to go to rehab by his friends and family. The outlet is reporting that the actor has begun drinking again, after years of sobriety, and those close to him are worried. Sheen’s wife, Brooke Mueller, is already in rehab. Charlie was arrested and charged with domestic assault after an incident involving his wife on Christmas Eve.
GOSSELIN AND TLC SETTLE! Jon Gosselin and TLC have settled their lawsuits against one another. TLC had sued the father of eight for breach of contract since he appeared on rival programs for pay and bad mouthed the network. Meanwhile, Jon countersued TLC, accusing them of marring his reputation. TMZ reports that the terms of the settlement are confidential.
DEADLIEST CATCH CAPTAIN’S DEATH TAPED. Phil Harris, the captain from Discovery’s Deadliest Catch reality show, passed away last week, and much like his life, it seems that the death was taped. A producer for the series told Entertainment Weekly that when the captain came out of the medically-induced coma he was in following a stroke, he wrote a note, giving his consent to be filmed and saying his story needed a “great finish.” No word on if the moments leading up to the sad event will air. Phil’s family plans to scatter his ashes at seas during the next crab season.
PALIN WOMEN RESPOND TO FAMILY GUY! Sarah Palin and her daughter, Bristol, responded to a recent episode of The Family Guy that featured a teenager with Down’s Syndrome. The character, “Ellen,” says that her mother is the former Governor of Alaska. On her Facebook page, Sarah described it as a “kick in the gut” and Bristol added that the program’s writers were “heartless jerks.” On The O’Reilly Factor, Sarah also said, “This world is full of cruel, cold-hearted people. When are we going to say this stuff isn't really funny?” Palin’s youngest child, Trig, has Down’s Syndrome.
GLEE SNEEK PEEK RELEASED! A sneak preview video of the hit FOX show Glee has surfaced and it includes Jane Lynch’s character donning a cone shaped Madonna bra. There are also clips of the kids from William McKinley High School taking on songs from the Material Girl as well as the Beatles. It even includes the Cheerios doing a routine that involves stilts and shows that the romance between the characters of glee club sponsor “Will Shuster” and school counselor “Emma Pillsbury” heating up. Look for the second season of Glee to kick off in April.
DR. PHIL TO HELP THE HOLYFIELDS! Who better to fix a relationship on the brink than Dr. Phil? TMZ is reporting that Evander Holyfield and his wife, Candi, issued a joint statement on Wednesday saying that they are going to see the TV doctor so he can help them work out their marital issues. www.SingersRoom.com reports Beyonce’s “Video Phone” clip has reportedly been banned from all media outlets and sources in Germany. The video wasn’t prohibited due to the sexual imagery, rather it was because Beyonce was wearing copyright infringing underwear. Apparently, the black and white outfit Bey dons in the clip is a direct copy of the original design created by Iskren Lozanov.
“WE ARE THE WORLD” BOWS AT NUMBER TWO
“We Are the World: 25 for Haiti” will debut at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, just days after the all-star charity single premiered during the televised opening of the Vancouver Winter Olympics. The song, a remake of the Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie-powered original, was only bested by Ke$ha's "Tik Tok," which tops the chart for the ninth straight week.
NO SONG PERFORMANCES AT OSCARS
Sometimes, the best part of the Academy Awards is watching the performances of the Best Original Song nominees. However, this year there won’t be any performances. Instead, according to New York Magazine, the five nominated tracks will be shown during montages of the films they appear in. This is even a step down from last year when all five nominated tracks were combined into one melody. The Oscars air on ABC on March 7th.
EUBANKS LEAVING TONIGHT SHOW! Kevin Eubanks, Jay Leno’s longtime bandleader and sidekick, won’t be a part of The Tonight Show when Leno returns as the host on March 1st. Sources told Extra that Eubanks “wanted a change” and decided to leave the show to pursue other opportunities. While one of Kevin’s rumoured replacements is Hootie and the Blowfish singer-turned-country star Darius Rucker, Rucker’s publicist says there is no truth to that.
NICOLE RICHIE ENGAGED! Nicole Richie and musician Joel Madden have been together for three years and have two children together. And now, the couple is officially engaged. Apparently, the engagement happened a while ago, but Joel just took to his Twitter account Monday night to confirm the news and to thank his friends and family for not spilling the beans about their engagement. KEVIN SMITH STILL BATTLING AIRLINE! Director Kevin Smith is still not happy with Southwest Airlines after he was ejected from a flight over the weekend because he was deemed too heavy to sit in a single seat. The New Jersey Star-Ledger reports Smith blogged about a subsequent phone call he had with an airline rep where it was explained the plane needed the extra seat for an even bigger passenger who had purchased two seats to contain his additional size. Smith claims he can indeed fit into single Southwest seat without a seatbelt extender and he’s willing to put his money where his mouth is. The director challenged the airline to come on TV with him and if the belt doesn’t fit him, he says he will pay ten-thousand dollars to the airline’s choice of charity. Smith does admit he’s overweight, but not THAT overweight.

Rumors have been circulating that the duo, who are filming a movie together called The Bounty Hunter, have been dating, but FoxNews.com says otherwise. A source told the Web site that they are “friends” and “get along great,” but that dating rumors will die out once the film is released.
JOLIE-PITT’S VENICE HOLIDAY! Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were spotted over the weekend on the streets of Venice, Italy with four of their six children in tow. USA Today reports that the family is in town because Angelina is scheduled to begin shooting the film The Tourist in March. After arriving by private plane, the group took two speedboats to what will be their home for the next few months. They reportedly needed two boats – one to hold all of the luggage and the other to accommodate the kids.

According to www.EW.com, Alexander McQueen died early Thursday morning in his London home. The brilliant fashion designer – who dressed Madonna, Gwyneth Paltrow and Lady Gaga – reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself just a week after his mother passed away. He was only 40 years old. The message on his official Web site reads: “At this stage it is inappropriate to comment on this tragic news beyond saying that we are devastated and are sharing a sense of shock and grief.”
BALDWIN TAKEN TO HOSPITAL, RELEASED! Alec Baldwin was taken to a hospital in New York City after his daughter called 911 following an argument with her father. Early yesterday morning, fourteen-year-old Ireland told the 911 operator she was afraid her father was going to take some pills, so an ambulance came. The L-A Times reports he was in the hospital for less than an hour before being released and was at work on the set of 30 Rock later in the day.
FELLOW SKIPPERS REMEMBER CAPTAIN PHIL! The death of Deadliest Catch’s Captain Phil Harris isn’t just being felt by fans of the hit reality show. His fellow fishermen on the series are also sharing their sorrow over the loss. SASHA COHEN: NO WIN FOR U-S WOMEN FIGURE SKATERS? Though she didn’t qualify for the U-S Women’s Figure Skating Olympic team, 2006 silver-medalist Sasha Cohen doesn’t believe they have a chance to take Gold this year. Placing fourth at Nationals kept Cohen from the Olympic lineup and sent teenagers Rachael Flatt and Mirai Nagasu to Vancouver. Cohen told www.People.com, “The U-S girls are young and haven’t competed as much internationally, so they’re kind of hit or miss. They’re good skaters, they're just not at the same level as the international girls.”

Thomas Beatie, the transgender who came to national fame after going on Oprah to discuss his unusual pregnancy, has given birth twice already, and now it seems like another is on the way. JOHN MAYER APOLOGIZES AT SHOW FOR COMMENTS
John Mayer is in the spotlight for comments he made during an interview that will be in the March issue of Playboy magazine. He touched on a number of subjects, including his relationships with Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Aniston, but he also used a word that he wasn’t supposed to, and has gotten a lot of grief over it. At his concert on Wednesday night in Nashville, Mayer said a lengthy and tearful apology for his comments, saying he fell into “a wormhole of selfishness, greediness and arrogance” and that he’s finished playing to the media and just wants to play his guitar. U2, Green Day and Bob Dylan all appear on a new charity album which benefits the Haitian relief efforts. The CD, which is called Rhythms Del Mundo: Haiti, features classic songs and covers by big name artists with an Afro-Cuban twist thanks to the group Rhythms Del Mundo. On the compilation, which was put together in two weeks, U2 takes on Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On,” Dylan does a rendition of his “A Hard Rain's A Gonna Fall” and Green Day cover “I Fought the Law.” You can pay what you wish for the album but keep in mind all proceeds are for charity. Newly released footage from the “We Are The World” recording session prominently shows Justin Bieber, P!nk, Josh Groban, Mary J. Blige, Akon and Maroon 5’s Adam Levine. The song, which will make its debut during the Opening Ceremony of the Winter Olympics, also features Lil Wayne, Wyclef Jean, Miley Cyrus, Drake, T-Pain, Kanye West, Keri Hilson, along with veterans such as Tony Bennett, Barbra Streisand and Lionel Ritchie, an original co-writer of the song. SADE'S PROJECTED ALBUM SALES
According to HitsDailyDouble.com, Sade’s latest album, Soldier Of Love, is estimated to sell between 400 – 450-thousand copies in its opening week! The reclusive pop-soul singer’s first album in over eleven years is also predicted to debut at the number one position on the Billboard charts. This is quite impressive considering she only released one single, titled “Soldier Of Love,” from the project, and did less promo than most of today’s biggest stars.
