    DEADLIEST CATCH MAN DIES. Captain Phil Harris of the Discovery Channel show Deadliest Catch has died at the age of 53. Harris was recently hospitalized after having a stroke while crabbing. According to, his condition was improving but took a sudden turn for the worse and he passed away.

    ACADEMY AWARD WINNER HAS CANCER. Academy Award-winning actor Louis Gossett, Jr. has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. According to E! Online, the actor caught the disease in its early stages and wants to use having cancer as a platform to inspire other African American males to get tested often so theirs can be caught early too. He is 73 years old.


    STREISAND REFUSES 100-MILLION VEGAS OFFER! reports Barbra Streisand has turned down a three-year, 100-million dollar contract to perform in Las Vegas. A source claims organizers are surprised the singer declined, especially when “no one has been able to replace” Celine Dion after she left Vegas. The insider added, “Bette Midler failed, Cher is trying, only Barbra is guaranteed to succeed. She’s an international star and the only performer in the world that would make people flock to Vegas year after year.” Instead, fans can expect Barbra to go on tour this summer.


    KATE HUDSON WANTS TIMBERLAKE? According to, Kate Hudson has the hots for Justin Timberlake. A source claims, “After reading that his romance with Jessica Biel is over, she’s decided to make her move.” Apparently, during the SAG Awards, Hudson “flirted with Justin outrageously that night, and he was all over her. They exchanged numbers in the green room.” It seems Kate has gotten over her split with Alex Rodriguez and wants to become Justin’s new girlfriend.


    TOM CRUISE PREPS MISSION IMPOSSIBLE IV? reports Tom Cruise will star in and produce the upcoming Mission Impossible IV movie. Paramount Pictures announced the franchise film will hit theaters during Memorial Day weekend in 2011 and will reportedly be co-produced by J.J. Abrams – who directed Mission: Impossible III. No word on who will direct the upcoming installment.


    AMERICAN IDOL RATINGS! Ellen DeGeneres’ official debut as an American Idol judge drew the series’ biggest audience since its season premiere. Over 27-million viewers tuned in to see DeGeneres share the stage with Simon Cowell, Kara DioGuardi and Randy Jackson. The show saw a ten percent boost in viewers compared to last week. Meanwhile, Lost won the 9 PM hour, according to preliminary nationals from Nielsen, with 11-million viewers. The final episode of The Jay Leno Show only drew 5.9-million viewers, while NBC’s two-hour The Biggest Loser scored nine-million viewers.


    TOPHER’S TRIPPY TIME? Valentine’s Day star Topher Grace said he was once given a breath strip by a girl at a party, but it wasn’t exactly something that would help with halitosis – it was drugs. It happened about a year ago and Grace claims that shortly after taking it, he asked his pal, “Is there lava coming out of the back of my head?” His friend asked if he was okay and Topher responded, “I think I’m fine, but I can touch colors, should I get naked?” reports he shared the story while a guest on the George Lopez’s show LopezTonight, which airs this evening. Lopez stars in fellow Valentine’s Day with Grace.


    TERMINATOR RIGHTS SELL AT AUCTION! There will be a new Terminator film, and the rights to make it sold for a pretty penny. reports that movie company Pacificor won an auction to make the next installment of the hit franchise over both Sony and Lionsgate. The winning bid was said to be 29.5-million dollars.


    MURRAY TALKS GHOSTBUSTERS 3! Bill Murray has revealed he’s agreed to appear in the new Ghostbusters film, but only if he can be killed off early in the movie so he can have a role as a ghost. According to, the funnyman loves the ghost comedy, calling the first 45 minutes of the original film “some of the funniest stuff ever made,” yet saying Ghostbusters 2 was “disappointing” because it was too much about special effects. Two unnamed writers of The Office are currently penning the Ghostbusters 3 script. Shooting is expected to start this year.


    A LAVERNE & SHIRLEY REMAKE? Garry Marshall’s latest film is Valentine’s Day, but the director is already considering some future projects, including revamping the hit TV show Laverne & Shirley – and two stars of Valentine’s Day would love to be on board. According to Extra, Jennifer Garner and Jessica Biel want to be in it. Garry also joked, “My sister Penny [Marshall] and Cindy [Williams] are gonna have a guest camero. They’re gonna walk ‘schlemiel, schlemazel’ – or they’re gonna get tired in the middle and sit down.”


    CHANNING TATUM LAP DANCES ON ELLEN! Dear John star Channing Tatum was on The Ellen Degeneres Show Wednesday and gave Ellen a lap dance. Tatum, who worked at a male revue show when he was young, showed Ellen some of his lap dancing moves. The 29-year-old said of his previous job, “I was a stripper, look, I’m not proud of it, but I’m not ashamed of it.” Learn more at and


    FIRST PICTURES OF BABY BRADY! The first pictures of quarterback Tom Brady and supermodel Gisele Bundchen’s baby have been published. The boy, named Benjamin, is shown in a light blue winter jacket with a blue hood. The photos were published in Brazilian magazine Quem, but fans can see them over at now. Benjamin was born back in December.


    OSCAR BALLOTS IN THE MAIL! The final ballots for the 82nd Academy Awards were mailed yesterday to the 5,777 voting members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Completed ballots must be returned to PriceWaterhouseCooper by 5 PM on March 2nd. Ballots received after the deadline will not be counted. The 82nd Academy Awards will be presented on March 7th at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood. The show will air live on ABC at 7 PM. The Oscars will be televised live in more than 200 countries worldwide.

It seems that the singer-songwriter is very open about most of his past relationships, including saying that Jessica Simpson was “a drug,” and that she was like “crack cocaine” to him.     The Black Eyed Peas are bringing their The E.N.D. World Tour to movie theaters on March 30th. Over 475 theaters across the country will show a concert beaming out live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The performance will be preceded by 30 minutes of backstage footage, before the Peas take the stage for their two-hour show. Check your local listings for theaters and ticket sales.     CHARLIE SHEEN CHARGED WITH ASPEN ASSAULT. Charlie Sheen was charged on Monday in a Colorado court with felony menacing, third degree assault and criminal mischief. The charges stem from a Christmas Day confrontation that had Sheen’s wife, Brooke Mueller, claiming he pinned her to a bed and held a knife at her throat, reports the LA Times. The judge modified a protective order keeping him from seeing her and two, who were both in court, embraced. He faces three years behind bars if he is found guilty of felony menacing when he returns to court on March 15th.


    HEF GETS SUED! Playboy shareholders are suing Hugh Hefner, accusing him of not taking any offers for the fledging Playboy company. According to TMZ, in the past month, Hef has turned down two deals. The shareholders think the 81-year-old Hefner doesn’t want to give up his lifestyle and is making poor decisions. They are suing for unspecified damages.

    LETTERMAN’S PASS SEND BIFF TO THE HOSPITAL! While waiting on Super Bowl winning quarterback Drew Brees to arrive as a guest on the Late Show with David Letterman, the host decided to toss around the football. However, when Dave fired a spiral to his long-time stage manager, Biff Henderson, the 63-year-old Biff took a tumble off the stage. The New York Daily News reports Henderson injured his knee and an ambulance was called. Biff was taken to the hospital, treated and released.


    DANE AND GAYHEART BABY GIRL! Actors Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart are expecting their first child, a baby girl, soon. According to, the Valentine’s Day star and his wife are excited for the new addition to the family. Dane told, “It just makes sense that I’m having a girl… I don’t know what it is, but I am excited it’s a girl.” It will be the first child for the couple, who have been married since 2006.


    24 THE MOVIE! According to, Kiefer Sutherland is on board to star in, executive produce and co-write a feature film based on the TV series 24. According to, the movie will take the counter terrorist unit to Europe, where “Jack Bauer” will battle the evildoers.


    REISER BACK TO NBC! From 1992 to 1999, NBC had a hit on their hands with Mad About You, and now, the network will try to reignite some of the series’ magic by airing a new sitcom developed by and starring Paul Reiser, who also created and starred in Mad About You. While there are no details on the single-camera filmed series, according to, NBC promises it will be “big.”


    PROBST REMAINS WITH SURVIVOR! E! Online reports that Jeff Probst has signed on to host two more seasons of Survivor. That means just one more year for him to host the reality show, which he has emceed for 10 years now. Probst said, “It felt like a prudent and thoughtful thing to take a moment and breathe and think, “What’s next for me?”

    Uncle Kracker has just released some details about his forthcoming Happy Hour tour. The trek will kick off on March 11th in Flint, Michigan and will run through April, with those dates still yet to be announced. Also, at the end of April, Uncle Kracker will be joining Kid Rock on his inaugural Chillin’ The Most Cruise, which will set sail from Tampa, Florida to the Cayman Islands.     Someone is turning regular one-dollar bills into tributes to Lady Gaga. In an act that surely must be illegal, a Web site is offering dollar bills for sale with George Washington’s face painted to mirror different outfits that Gaga has worn on red carpets, at award shows, and just walking around town. Most sell from 10 to 15 dollars.







    Nelly Furtado is ready to try her hand at acting. According to, the “Promiscuous” singer will be starring in a TV movie called Score: A Hockey Musical. Nelly will be portraying an obsessed fan of the popular winter sport. Olivia Newton-John is also set to star, and filming will begin later this month in Toronto. No word yet on when and where we’ll be able to see Nelly’s acting debut.




    According to Garry Marshall, the director of the new film Valentine’s Day, the first thing Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner did on set was kiss! Marshall always has actors start with kissing scenes and says it was obvious right away that the two Taylors, who later began dating, had chemistry. Garry stated, “The first three were nice, by the fourth I think they started going together. I don't know what the hell happened, but somewhere in the fifth or sixth take they were dating.” Valentine’s Day comes out on Friday.

    SUPER BOWL GETS HUGE RATINGS! If you watched the Super Bowl this past weekend, you weren’t the only one. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sunday’s big game set a new all-time U-S ratings high. 106.5-million American’s watched Super Bowl XLIV, making it the most watched TV event ever, toppling a 27-year-old record held by the 1983 finale of M*A*S*H, which 105-million people saw. The game is also the first sports program ever to draw more than 100-million viewers domestically.


    · 98.7-million people tuned in to last year’s Super Bowl.


    KNIGHTLEY STALKER ARRESTED! In 2007, Keira Knightley left England after learning she had five stalkers. Well the actress, who is currently in London starring in the stage production of Moliere’s The Misanthrope, might want to get out of dodge again. According to The Daily Mail, a man was arrested outside Keira’s theater on Thursday and charged with harassment. 41-year-old Polish national Marek Daniluk, who suffers from mental illness, had been sending the Pirates of the Caribbean star gifts and letters along with lingering outside of her theater. Scared, Keira called police, who arrested the man. He’s pled not guilty and will go to trial in June.


    HOWARD STERN TALKS IDOL! Shock jock Howard Stern has finally commented on the reports that he’s being considered to fill Simon Cowell’s shoes when the American Idol judge leaves the show. Stern told his satellite radio listeners, “There’s not a better job on the planet than judging a f***ing karaoke contest.     Ke$ha, who has a number one hit with “Tik Tok,” posted a video last week of what appears to be her vandalizing the famed Hollywood sign in California. The singer with a group of friends pulled a white sheet over the first few letters of the sign and spray-painted “Ke$haWood” over it. It turns out the clip was a fake and Ke$ha didn’t actually go near the Hollywood sign, but you can still see the video at YouTube.

    Ke$ha recently shot a video for “Blah Blah Blah,” along with the boys of 3Oh!3, who appear on the club anthem. Ke$ha told MTV News at the shoot, "The whole concept of the video was a bunch of douche-y guys macking on me as usual, and me making them eat their toupees or other various items. At one point, I get to be strapped to this harness and bouncing around everywhere, and it was really cool." Ke$ha explained that the dance tune originated from a discussion she had in the studio on the politics of female-male relationships. Ke$ha’s debut album, Animal, has sold over 284-thousand copies in just four weeks.

The singer’s House of Dereon clothing line apparently breached its contract with Vier by “inducing the shipment of goods to the United States with the intent to convert them or pay less than agreed upon contract price.” In addition, the manufacturer has reportedly filed a report under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO).

    Danii Minogue is set to star in a reality show that will document her time being pregnant. According to British paper The Daily Mail, the X-Factor judge will make around 300-thousand dollars for the six-episode series, and it will being airing on English television in June.     According to the Associated Press, Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz is still talking about the future of the band.     Paramore guitarist Josh Farro will not be touring with the band during their upcoming tour. Farro wrote a blog on, saying he needs to focus on planning for his upcoming wedding. Josh will be replaced for the time being by Justin York, the brother of Paramore’s other guitarist, Taylor York.
