A bank worker called in sick from work. She said "she could not work in front of a computer as she needed to lie in the dark." When her bosses saw her surfing Facebook from home, she was terminated. The bank said the incident "had destroyed its trust in the employee."

NFL Cheerleader Fired Over Pictures
Caitlin Davis, an 18-year-old cheerleader with the New England Patriots, was fired over photos she posted to Facebook. The pictures showed Davis and an unidentified friend leaning over a passed-out boy whose entire face and body was covered in distasteful graffiti, like 'I'm a Jew' and swastikas.

Juror Dismissed After Facebook Slip
A juror in the UK was dismissed after she disclosed sensitive case information on her Facebook profile. She wrote, "I don't know which way to go, so I'm holding a poll," asking her Facebook friends to weigh in on the case.

Waitress Fired For Complaining About Customers
A former waitress at a pizza restaurant got irritated after she had to stay past her shift to wait on a table of two. When the table finally cleared out, they left a bad tip. She called the customers "cheap" on her Facebook page.

A Georgia high school teacher claims she was forced to resign after her principal "questioned her about about her Facebook page, which included photos of her holding wine and beer and an expletive."

Pirates Pierogi Mascot Fired For Dissing Team Managers
A Pittsburgh Pirate pierogi mascott was fired after he took to Facebook and voiced his opinion about the team's management. The message was aimed at team president Frank Coonelly, general manager Neal Huntington and manager John Russell and read: "Coonelly extended the contracts of Russell and Huntington through the 2011 season. That means a 19-straight losing streak. Way to go Pirates."

A woman's (alleged) Facebook post reportedly caught the attention of her boss, who offered a prompt reply--along with a pink slip.

TEENAGER IS "DEER MAGNET"...AFTER HITTING 5 OF THEM

A teenager in Des Moines, Iowa earned the nickname "The Deer Magnet" after hitting five deer over the past year.

The 17 year old girl's string of bad luck started last July when she was driving home from her job at an ice cream shop. She saw the deer for an instant before hitting it.

Her second hit happened a few months later, while she was driving to church on a Sunday morning.

The streak continued after she hit her fourth deer. When that happened her pastor's wife told her to start praying before she got into a car.

The girl was doing just that the other day, when she hit her fifth deer. The crash totaled her minivan.

A MOVIE IS BEING MADE ABOUT GRATEFUL DEAD FRONTMAN JERRY GARCIA...PLUS, THE DEAD ARE HONORING JERRY GARCIA'S DEATH...WITH KAZOOS?!

A movie is being made about Grateful Dead frontman Jerry Garcia's life before he became the leader of the band.

Producers announced plans to turn the book "Dark Star: An Oral Biography on Jerry Garcia" into a big-screen film.

The movie will be like "Nowhere Boy", which looked at John Lennon's youth before he joined the Beatles.

The movie will look at the period when Garcia was working in coffee shops and playing bluegrass, newly married with a young daughter. The film ends when Garcia leaves to join the Dead.

It's highly unlikely that the movie will feature the band's music. Instead, there will be more of a "bluegrass, folk ballads and jugband music" feel because that's what was influential at the time.

The movie's title hasn't been officially announced, but rumor is that it will be called "Dark Star".

Production could start as early as next year.

MEANTIME:

Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart will mark the 15th anniversary of the death of Jerry Garcia with kazoos.

Mickey is hoping to break the record for largest kazoo ensemble by leading fans in a kazoo rendition of "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" during the seventh-inning stretch at the Cubs-Giants game in San Francisco on August 9th.

Dead bandmate Bob Weir will perform the national anthem before the game and Garcia's daughter, Annabelle, will throw out the first pitch.

Fans who buy tickets to a special Jerry Garcia section at the park also get a Jerry Garcia bobblehead wearing in a Giants jacket.

VIDEO: SMASHING PUMPKINS' BILLY CORGAN COLLAPSES ONSTAGE

Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan collapsed onstage in Tampa, Florida. He fell into his drummer's kit as the band performed its 1995 hit "Bullet with Butterfly Wings."

Almost immediately after falling, Billy got back to his feet and continued playing.

He later Tweeted: "For those that saw me fall during Bullet, that wasn't a stage move or clumsiness, that was me blacking out and wiping out. I have no memory of falling against the drum riser and my guitar cabinet, but I can tell you I've got quite a good bruise and am moving slow."

Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.i.am is amazed about his group's tour. He remembers when he and his members made $150 per show and were excited about it.

He said: "We would jump up and down because we got paid, even though it meant we had to split it with each other and the band, meaning about $20 a piece. Then we got paid $2,000 for a show. And then I remember the first time we got paid a million bucks for an hour. I was like, 'Wow!' That was only four years ago."

Today, Will.i.am, Fergie, Apl.de.ap and Taboo are selling out arenas. And while other artists are canceling shows because of poor ticket sales, the Peas are having a great year.

Through the end of June, the E.N.D. tour has made $47.7 million in 54 shows, including 53 sellouts.

Will.i.am said: "We wanted to tour bigger than we've ever toured before. We started off doing California campuses in 1996, and then after our record deal, our first tour was the Smokin' Grooves tour, our second tour was the Vans Warped tour. We were the first hip-hop group on a punk tour. Then we did the Honda Civic tour. In '99 we went to Europe and toured in small clubs, maybe 200-seaters, followed by a House of Blues tour in America. We toured on this smaller scale for a long time, so it was important to learn how to do a big production for our fans."
