New book about pregnancy breaks the rules

by Nikki Montgomery

Emily Oster is a Harvard Educated associate professor of economics at the University of Chicago and in her new book Expecting Better she goes against all doctors' recommendations for a healthy pregnancy.

In the book she claims that having plenty of coffee and a glass of wine a day is fine for mom and baby. She also says dying your hair is okay and eating sushi is fine too.

This may sound really good to some women, but I always err on the side of caution. I'm going to talk to my doctor at Ministry Medical Group about this and blog his response to this book.

Do you believe Oster's claims?
