ROCKER GENE SIMMONS DISSES 'IDOL'S CHOICE OF J.LO AS JUDGE
KISS rocker Gene Simmons does not support the decision to hire Jennifer Lopez as judge on "American Idol".
He feels that she can sing and dance, but that does not mean she can discover new talent. Simmons can't give her credit because she doesn't write her own records.
However, (and not surprising!), Simmons feels that he would be the perfect candidate. He's written songs, been in a band for 37 years, toured the world, discovered Van Halen, and managed Liza Minnelli, as well as Simmons Records.
To be fair, Simmons fully supports Aerosmith's Steven Tyler.
The rocker says, "Steven is going to be great. He is going to be the only interesting one there because obviously he’s going to be qualified to know what he is talking about."
