Ladies – ever find yourself bored or not having a clue during about the game during Super Bowl Sunday? Well, have no fear – The Sports Bra Reports is here to help!

Every year nearly every American celebrates the Super Bowl. This event has become an unofficial holiday here in the United States, and people spend tons of money planning the right place to see the game, updating their TV systems, and making sure they have every snack and beverage available for the “big game.”

So what about us ladies? Do we love the Super Bowl as much as our male counterparts? In some cases, the women are just as into it as the men and can spew the facts and stats about the game just like any other football fanatic. In other cases, some women feel as confused and left out as a man at a bridal shower.

So have no fear ladies! Here at the Sports Bra Reports, we have decided to roll out, what will become a yearly special The Girl’s Guide To The Super Bowl!

In this guide, you will have all the information you need to feel like you can talk about Super Bowl XLIV (44) like you have been following the NFL all season long.

Let’s start with the basics:

Teams:

Indianapolis Colts (Indiana) Colors – Blue & White vs. New Orleans Saints (Louisiana) Colors – Black & Gold

Date: February 7, 2010

Stadium: Sun Life Stadium

City: Miami, Florida

Kickoff Time: 6:30 PM ET

TV Network: CBS

Rules: Check out the NFL’s Beginner’s Guide to the Rules here.

Who to Root For:

Trying to pick a team to root for in the Super Bowl can be a little tricky if you donít know too much about the game or the teams playing, but here are a few suggestions:

  • Root for the team that has players or coaches that you like. For example, if you like Peyton Manning because of his appearance on SNL or his funny commercials with Justin Timberlake, root for the Colts.
  • Family members, boyfriends/girlfriends or friends root for either the Colts or Saints.
  • Root for the home team or the teams which location that is closest to you.

Here’s a little background on each team playing in these year’s Super Bowl in Miami – that way when the conversation comes up about Manning’s & the Colts year, you’ll be able to join in on the topic without hesitation and churn out interesting points such as:

“Yeah, I think the Colts should have gone for the perfect season, but Coach Caldwell did achieve the results he wanted by having a healthy team in time for the Super Bowl.”

Trust me ladies, your man/friends/parents, whoever you’re watching the game with will definitely be impressed.

Indianapolis Colts

Season Story: The Colts had a chance at perfection heading into week 16 of the NFL season, they decided not to go for the perfect season by opting to rest their players in order to have them all ready for the playoffs. Which in theory worked as they made it to the Super Bowl.

Key Players:

QB (Quarterback) – Peyton Manning #18:
Manning is this year’s NFL Most Valuable Player (MVP). He won it for a record setting 4th time this year. He is one of the most accurate QB’s – expect him to carve up the Saints Defense just as he did against the Jets.

TE (Tight End) – Dallas Clark #44: One of Manning’s favorite targets and can be lined up anywhere on the field.

WR (Wide Receiver) – Reggie Wayne #87: Manning’s number 1 receiver is expected to have a big game against the Saints secondary.

DE (Defensive End) – Dwight Freeney #93:
Freeney has partial torn ligaments in his ankle; he will be a day-to-day decision. But if he doesn’t play expect the Colts defense to be significantly weakened.

New Orleans Saints

Season Story: Hailing from a city that a few years ago was devastated by Hurricane Katrina, the Saints put the city on it’s back and gave them all something to cheer for. Also like the Colts, they too had a chance at a perfect season but faltered a bit towards the end of the season losing 3 out of their last four games.

Key Players:

QB (Quarterback) – Drew Brees #9:
Brees had almost as good of season as Manning did, throwing for over 4,500 yards and 34 touchdowns. Expect him to test the Colts defense with his high-powered offense.

RB (Running Back) – Reggie Bush #25:
Kim Kardashian’s boyfriend is an explosive all around player for the Saints. He helps the team by returning punts, kickoffs and playing running back/wide receiver. Expect him to make a big play or two.

S (Safety) – Darren Sharper #42:
The 34 year old, is a 13-year league veteran, that is one of the most feared defenders in the league. If Manning makes a mistake; Sharper will make him pay for it with a pick (interception).

Ladies, just in case all this is way to much – here’s a brief article by actor/comedian Denis Leary on the “8 Things Not to Talk About During The Super Bowl,” a funny and poignant piece.

So there you go ladies and gents, a short but effective preview of Super Bowl XLIV (44). Expect this to be a great game as both the number 1 & 2 teams in the NFL face off in Miami. It will definitely become an instant classic.

The Sports Bra Reports Prediction: Anticipate Manning & the Colts to come out firing on all cylinders. He will guide the Colts to an early lead, but Drew Brees and the Saints will battle and stay in the game. Peyton Manning will orchestrate the final drive and he will win the game on a late touchdown pass to Dallas Clark or Reggie Wayne. Final Score: 41-34, Colts.

Ladies now you have all the info you need to kick back a few brews & enjoy the game.
