NEW TV AD WITH JOHN LENNON FOOTAGE
A new TV commercial featuring footage of John Lennon has got a lot of Beatles fans upset. The ad is for the Citroen DS3 automobile and shows John in 1968 when he and Paul went to America to announce the launch of the Beatles' Apple Records label. John's voice has been dubbed over because the words you hear are not what he said at that press conference, and it just doesn't sound like John. Sean Lennon defended the ad yesterday in a series of Tweets claiming that his mother, Yoko Ono, did not give her permissio for the footage to be used in the ad for financial gain. Sean says it was to keep John's image alive, and what better way to reach young people that with television.
