U2, LADY GAGA, METALLICA, SWIFT TAKE TOP HONORS AT BILLBOARD TOURING AWARDS
U2, Lady Gaga, Metallica and Taylor Swift took home the major awards at the 2010 Billboard Touring Awards, held last night in New York (at the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers).
Rush and Jack Johnson were also honored during the ceremony.
In honor of their massive 360 world tour, U2 were presented the Top Tour and Top Draw Awards, which recognize the top grossing and ticket-selling tours based on global box office numbers reported to Billboard Boxscore from Oct. 1, 2009 through Sept. 30, 2010. Lady Gaga took home the Breakthrough Award as well as the Concert Marketing & Promotion Award.
Metallica received the Eventful Fans' Choice Award, and the Top Package Award was given to Taylor Swift's tour with openers Kellie Pickler and Gloriana. AC/DC won the Top Boxscore Award for its three sellout shows at Sydney's ANZ Stadium, while Dane Cook took home the Top Comedy Tour Award.
Legendary rock group Rush was also named the 2010 Billboard Legend Of Live at the ceremony, and Jack Johnson took home the Humanitarian Award.
Yo Gabba Gabba Live! was given the Creative Content Award.
