U2 RELEASING A LIVE EP ON VINYL FOR "BLACK FRIDAY" AT INDIE RECORD STORES

U2 is going to be offering a special treat to celebrate this week's "Black Friday" promotion, which will help support independent record stores. U2 will be offering a  limited-edition three-song live EP on vinyl called "Wide Awake in Europe."

Tracks include the new track, "Mercy," which was recently added to the European leg of the "U2360° Tour". The other two songs are "Moment of Surrender" and "I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight".

Only 5,000 copies of the EP will be pressed and sold in North American indie record stores.

U2 bassist Adam Clayton: "We all wanted to get behind Record Store Day. My local record shop introduced me to music I didn't know and I might never have discovered."

Other "Black Friday" releases will come from Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Metallica, the Gaslight Anthem, the Black Crowes, Grinderman, the Doors, the Black Keys and others.

"Black Friday" is an extension of the national Record Store Day in April that celebrates indie music stores that still specialize in selling physical CDs and vinyl.
