THE CARS REUNITING FOR THEIR FIRST ALBUM IN 23 YEARS!
The Cars have reunited to record their first album in 23 years and they may be supporting it with a tour.
The news was first confirmed by an engineer on an online message board. The posts came after a posting on Facebook of a picture with the band's four surviving original members together in a recording studio.
The engineer's posts said that the band recorded only new songs for the album.
Last week, the Cars dropped a 73-second snippet of a new song called "Blue Tip", but they didn't give any information about the new album.
The Cars split in 1988, with members moving on to solo careers and other projects, like frontman Ric Ocasek's stint as senior VP of A&R at Elektra Records and as a producer for Nada Surf, No Doubt and Weezer.
