A Chicago woman who is best known for making plaster casts of rock stars' genitalia is going to run for mayor.

Cynthia Plaster Caster (Cynthia Albritton) says she is a "recovering groupie" but she is using the "Plaster Caster" nickname on her campaign Web site.

She said, "I am not a politician. I am an everyday citizen that is sick and tired of seeing the problems of our city escalate and I believe we ALL need to participate in helping to make our city the best it can be."

Cynthia made plaster casts of the genitalia of rock stars during the 1960s and 1970s - most notably Jimi Hendrix, whom she met at the Chicago Hilton and Towers in 1968.
