Forbes has released its annual top 10 list of the most powerful people in the world.
Forbes considers four criteria when deciding what makes a person powerful. The first is whether they have power over a large number of people. Think the Pope and all of his Catholics (he ranked fifth), or the CEO of the large company like Wal-Mart (he was 17th).
The second would be how much money does the person control, whether in personal well or in their job. Carlos Slim Helu, the world's richest man, came in 11th.
Next would be if they hold power in multiple steers. Mayor Michael Bloomberg, No. 16, holds stake in a political, financial, and media spheres.
Finally, does the person make use of their power? Vladimir Putin came in third because he wields his power often.
