Former country star Mindy McCready is the fifth alum from VH1's ‘Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew' to die in the past two years.
She was found dead on her porch after having shot herself in the head with a gun.
During her appearance on Season 3 of ‘Celebrity Rehab' McCready suffered an on-camera seizure. A month earlier the father of McCready's two sons had also committed suicide - he was found dead on the same porch.
Other ‘Rehab' alums who have passed away the past few years are Alice in Chains bassist Mike Starr, "Real World" member Joey Kovar, "Grease" star Jeff Conway and Rodney King.
Dr. Drew said death is a serious reality for drug addicts and that had his show been about cancer patients there wouldn't be as much surprise over the fact that a frequency of participants were losing their lives.
