ALANIS MORISSETTE ENTERS IDOL TALKS

Alanis Morissette is the latest celebrity to be linked to the American Idol judging panel. In an interview on Thursday, the singer did not confirm nor deny that she may be in talks with the singing show. Mariah Carey is already confirmed to fill one of the judging chairs for season 12, which starts in January on FOX.
P!NK ADMITS HER MOM GROUNDED HER FOR WATCHING MTV

Pink’s face and music may be plastered all over MTV nowadays, but there was a time in her life when she wasn’t even allowed to watch the channel. The pop singer admitted to People magazine, “My mom never used to let me watch MTV as a little girl. I would watch it anyway, but she would also try and ground me. I would just sneak out my window and go to someone’s house that had MTV, so to be on MTV is quite ironic.” Pink will be performing a new song from her upcoming album at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, airing September 6th at 8 PM.
PINK HAS EMINEM, FUN. FRONTMAN FEATURED ON NEW ALBUM
Pink is teaming up with Eminem and Fun. frontman Nate Ruess on her upcoming album, The Truth About Love. Pink and Em are no strangers, having worked together before on the rapper’s Recovery song “Won’t Back Down.” Pink previously announced Lily Allen as a feature on the album as well. The Truth About Love hits stores September 18th.
AMY WINEHOUSE EX-HUSBAND GOES INTO COMA

The late Amy Winhouse’s ex-husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, is in a coma after multiple organ failure due to binge drinking. NME reports that Fielder-Civil was found unresponsive, choking on vomit Wednesday afternoon and was rushed to the hospital. Doctors induced the coma to better diagnose and treat his condition.
ONE DIRECTION’S LIAM PAYNE TWEETS ABOUT KIDNEY RECOVERY
One Direction member Liam Payne recently tweeted about his new, healthy kidney, saying, “Just been for an ultrasound on my kidney turns out its fixed from when I was a baby! So now I have two.” The singer revealed his lifelong health problems last year, having gone through countless hospital tests as an infant only to stump doctors as to what was wrong with him. They finally discovered that one of Payne’s kidneys was scarred, but a recent turn of events showed two healthy kidneys in his ultrasound. Upon hearing the news, bandmate Niall Horan joked via Twitter, “Well if ur kidneys working now…comin for a pint? Ahahaah I joke.”
LADY GAGA ON HER NAME

CARLY RAE JEPSEN IS NUMBER ONE FOR NINTH STRAIGHT WEEK

Carly Rae Jepsen’s "Call Me Maybe" scores its ninth week atop the Hot 100 chart. According to Billboard, the song is now the longest running chart-topper of 2012, passing Gotye’s "Somebody That I Used to Know," which was number one for eight straight weeks earlier this year. Ellie Goulding leaps three spots to number two with “Lights,” Flo Rida’s "Whistle" is up one spot to number three, Katy Perry drops two notches to number four with “Wide Awake,” and Maroon 5 also fall two spots to number five with “Payphone,” featuring Wiz Khalifa.
- TIDBIT: Gotye's former number one hit, “Somebody That I Used to Know,” holds at number six and is the first track to surpass six-million downloads this year.

FLO RIDA TALKS 2012

Flo Rida recently wrapped a short tour with B.o.B and Cee Lo Green and now, the rapper is eyeing more tour dates. We caught up with the Miami-based MC, who told us to expect a lot more live shows and singles soon. Flo Rida’s latest album, Wild Ones, has sold over 70-thousand copies since its release four weeks ago. He will take the stage in Orlando, Florida on August 18th.
FUN. QUESTION “COLBERT BUMP” BEFORE FESTIVAL
Comedy Central personality Stephen Colbert will be hosting his music festival, StePhest Colbchella ‘012: RocktAugustFest, today (8/10) aboard the U-S-S Intrepid in New York City. He’s scored some pretty impressive acts for the occasion, including Grandmaster Flash, Grizzly Bear, the Flaming Lips and Santigold, although the band making the biggest splash is Fun. Vocalist Nate Ruess told MTV News backstage at Lollapalooza that he had never even heard of the infamous “Colbert Bump” until the news staff told him about it, saying, “Is that a real thing? It sounds like you’re going to do coke with Stephen Colbert,” instead, preferring “Glenn Beck Dip” or some “Rush Limbaugh Vicodin.”

NIVEA DROPS RIHANNA, CLAIMS SHE’S “TOO SEXY”
Nivea CEO Stefan Heidrenreich has dropped Rihanna as their spokesperson, claiming she’s “too sexy” to continue representing the skincare brand. Heidrenreich said, “I do not understand how to associate the core brand of Nivea with Rihanna. [She] is a no-go.” The 24-year-old singer first started appearing in Nivea commercials in 2011, posing nude for a series of ads commemorating their 100th anniversary, and the company also sponsored her Loud tour. Rihanna responded to the CEO’s decision by tweeting his picture and writing, “No caption necessary.”
