NICKELBACK PREMIERE “TRYING NOT TO LOVE YOU” VIDEO


On Friday, Nickelback premiered the video for their song “Trying Not To Love You.”  The clip stars Jason Alexander and Brooke Burns getting flirty in a coffee shop. The tune is the band’s fifth single off their chart-topping album, Here and Now. It’s worth heading to Facebook.com/Nickelback to see the clip, where Brooke rolls around in coffee beans in a bikini.

JONAS BROS. “CULTIVATING” NEW MUSIC

It’s been two years since The Jonas Brothers released their album, Lines, Vines and Trying Times, and fans may not have to wait too much longer for more new music.  In recent interviews with MTV News, Joe Jonas said the brothers have been recording for three or four months, and Nick Jonas said he’s been listening through their old albums for inspiration.  Joe went on to say that he cannot confirm a release date, but he believes it will be before the end of 2012.  Both Nick and Joe will be on upcoming reality shows – Nick on the E! show Living with Jonas and Joe on The CW’s The Next.

JOHN MAYER AND KATY PERRY GET FRIENDLY BY THE POOL


John Mayer and Katy Perry were caught kissing and cuddling at a Beverly Hills pool party earlier this month. The photos made their way to Us Magazine, and show the new couple laughing, kissing and holding each other. Mayer has previously dated Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Aniston.

MARIAH CAREY AND NO DOUBT TO KICK OFF THE NFL SEASON


According to Rap-Up.com, Mariah Carey will help kick off the NFL season next month.  The singer will perform during the pregame festivities before the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants game on Wednesday, September 5th at 6:30 on NBC and the NFL Network.  Carey will perform her new single, “Triumphant (Get ‘Em),” in front of 30 Rockefeller Center in New York City. No Doubt will also perform their new single, “Settle Down,” on the telecast. 

RIHANNA OPENED UP TO OPRAH

Rihanna’s highly anticipated interview with Oprah Winfrey aired last night.  The singer opened up to Oprah about the fateful night in February 2009 when her life was changed forever.  An emotional Rihanna fought back tears while recalling her breakup with Chris Brown, saying, “I lost my best friend. Like everything I knew was switched. Switched in a night. And I couldn’t control that.”  She added that she couldn’t help but feel bad for Brown, explaining how she felt “protective” of the singer while everyone thought he was a “monster.”  Rihanna said Chris needed help and he went out and got it. Rihanna performed in Tokyo, Japan over the weekend.          

LENNOX TURNS DOWN U-K’S THE VOICE


The Voice is not just a hit show here in America, over in the U-K, the series premiered its first season to very strong ratings as well.  However, the ratings dropped off a bit so producers for the British version have been seeking a new judge for their second season.  After seeing Annie Lennox perform at the Olympic Games Closing Ceremony last week, they set their sights on her.  However, according to the Mirror, she quickly declined.  Her rep told the paper, “Annie has been vocal in the past about her distaste for talent shows so it would have been somewhat hypocritical to take part.”  Read more at Mirror.co.uk.
