RUMOR HAS IT THE BABY’S DUE SOON


Rumors are all over the Internet that the baby of singing sensation Adele and boyfriend Simon Konecki is due sometime next month.  Now, according to Perez Hilton, Simon may have spilled the beans and accidentally confirmed it.  In a new interview, Simon said “The baby is coming so soon. I’m very excited. Adele is doing well and we can’t wait.”  The couple announced they were having their first child together in June.

BIEBER’S OPPONENTS NOW DEFENDING HIM


International superstar Justin Bieber incited a national debate in Canada earlier this month when he said his Aboriginal Canadian heritage entitled him to free gas.  The Congress of Aboriginal Peoples’ national chief Betty Ann Lavallée issued a statement on August 3rd that Bieber was promoting misconceptions, but she now says Justin has nothing to apologize for.  Celebuzz reports Betty issued another statement that Justin made a mistake, but he can be a role model now for Canadians of Aboriginal descent and help the organization educate the public this fall with a national discussion and debate. So far, there’s no word on whether Justin will participate.

SUMMER LOVE CONTINUES FOR TAYLOR SWIFT


The web is buzzing over pictures from this weekend of Taylor Swift smooching with her new beau, Conor Kennedy. The two were caught lip locked by photogs near the Kennedy compound in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts. According to E! News, Taylor and the 18-year-old attended the wedding of Conor’s cousin, Kyle, and on Sunday, the two attended mass.

HOW TAYLOR SWIFT KEEPS IT HEALTHY


Taylor Swift’s workout regimen is strong and steady! With a new album in the works and a new boyfriend by her side, a good workout regimen is a top priority in her busy schedule. But how does the country star stay fit while juggling work and a personal life? According to Us Weekly, she makes a point the run every day. She told the magazine, “For me, working out is not so I can get skinny.  It's so that I'm not panting on stage.” Another important part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle for Taylor is to let go of negativity. She says keeping a journal is a good way to de-stress when times are tough. Finally, Taylor eats healthy – and leaves room to cheat on a diet. She keeps her energies high with salad, yogurt and healthy sandwiches during the week but indulges with baked goods, burgers and lattes on the weekends.

 

THE FRAY ARE WORKING ON NEW SONGS


The Fray are in the studio creating some new songs! How do we know? Well, the group posted a screen shot over on Twitter of a sound editing session they were working on, and Isaac Slade said they cannot wait for everyone to hear their new songs.

LENNON’S KILLER UP FOR PAROLE


Mark David Chapman, the man who killed John Lennon, will receive another parole hearing. According to Reuters, this marks the 57-year-old murderer’s seventh time in front of a parole board since 2000.  In 1981, the year after he killed the Beatle legend, Chapman was sentenced to 20 years to life for second-degree murder.  The New York State Department of Corrections holds parole hearings every two years.  Yoko Ono has previously lobbied the parole board to keep Chapman in prison, saying she fears for her own safety and the safety of John’s sons, Julian and Sean. 

  • TIDBIT: In 2000, a member of the Correctional Association of New York told the Associated Press that “if Jesus Christ returned to earth for the sole purpose of decreeing that it would be appropriate to release Mark Chapman, the parole board wouldn’t be willing to take the political heat they would get by doing it.”
  • TIDBIT: On December 8th, 1980, after the singer signed an album for him, Chapman shot Lennon four times in the back outside of the John’s apartment in New York City.

LENNON’S TOOTH IN ART


Plenty of people have made sculptures in tribute to John Lennon, but one Canadian artist has a very unique piece she’ll be putting on hers.  According to the Edmonton Sun, Kirsten Zuk will create her art around a chunk of the singer’s tooth.  Her brother, a dentist, bought the tooth in a November auction for about 30-thousand dollars.  Kristen put a piece of the molar in her clay model of Lennon, which will be on display during Edmonton, Canada’s Fringe Festival, which is going on now.   • TIDBIT: Kristen’s brother said, “Lennon gave his tooth to a fan in good spirit so I wanted to do a few things that would raise awareness of the charity Smile Train, so we are asking people that come to view the sculpture… to consider making a donation which helps children with cleft lip and palate.”

IS NICKI MINAJ THE NEXT IDOL JUDGE?

On Monday, Nicki Minaj tweeted that she had a surprise for her followers, and insiders are saying it’s a new job on the American Idol judges’ panel.  According to Perez Hilton, Nicki still has to sign a few more documents but sources tell the site “it is happening” and she is “100% confirmed to judge American Idol.”  If the deal goes through, Nicki will fill the seat left by Steven Tyler and join new judge Mariah Carey for this upcoming season.

GREEN DAY RAISE THE IRE OF ANGRY BIRDS

Not content to dominate just the music industry with their upcoming trio of albums, the stage with their American Idiot musical, and the silver screen with not one, but two documentaries later this year, Green Day are now aiming to conquer the video game world as well. The group has announced that they are teaming up with the makers of the wildly popular Angry Birds Friends for a special version of the game. The three members will appear as pigs in ten new levels in addition to having an exclusive song titled “Troublemaker” appear in the game. No word on when it will be available but we’re guessing it will be sometime near the release of the band’s record, Uno, on September 25th.

LAURYN HILL DENIES OPRAH

Oprah Winfrey is going after the biggest stars and newsmakers for her show Oprah’s Next Chapter.  She recently had Rihanna, Whitney Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina, 50 Cent, the Kardashians, and Paris Jackson.  The talk show host wanted to get Lauryn Hill, who is in trouble with the IRS, but the former Fugees singer denied her request for an interview.  Hill is facing three years in jail for intentionally failing to file tax returns in 2005, 2006 and 2007.  O has also been trying to land Beyonce, with no luck yet.   

BIEBER, GAGA AND MORE HELP BEY TO CELEBRATE WORLD HUMANITY DAY


Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga and Michelle Obama are helping Beyonce by supporting the global campaign of World Humanity Day.  The campaign asks that on Sunday, people help others through such acts as making sandwiches for the homeless or volunteering at a local charity. The goal is to share one-billion messages of hope.  Other artists lending a helping hand including Rihanna, Shakira, Jay-Z, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin.
