TAYLOR SWIFT: "STUFF IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN"

Taylor Swift teased fans about new music in a Facebook post on Monday (7/9). She writes, “I’m writing you from Nashville, where I just sat in a big room with a lot of people and made a lot of decisions about a lot of things happening very soon.” She goes on to say, “Stuff is about to happen.” There’s no doubt Taylor is talking about her next album, which she’s been working on for the past few months. No official release date has been set, but it’s expected to arrive later this year.

RIHANNA CONSIDERS LOVE LIFE TO BE NON-EXISTENT


Things haven’t been too easy for Rihanna lately.  The singer, who has been having to deal with men left and right, has revealed that romantic life has been very difficult to her.  According to ABC News, the singer said, “I have been conservative in my love life…it’s pretty much non-existent.” It appears that her attitude towards love may have something to do with the assault that she suffered at the hands of then-boyfriend Chris Brown in 2009.

LADY GAGA BELIEVES THAT SHE LACKS MATURITY ON NEXT ALBUM


Little monsters rejoice!  Popular singer Lady Gaga will be releasing a new record soon… and she doesn’t plan on making it mature.  The singer told MTV News, “Let’s just say I feel, I feel that when I wrote Born This Way, I demonstrated a sense of maturity…And I feel that, on the next album, there’s a lack of maturity, it’s a tremendous lack of maturity or sense of responsibility.”  Gaga further announced that recording is in its early stages and the title of the new album will be revealed this September.

ADAM LAMBERT AS AN AMERICAN IDOL JUDGE?!


American Idol may once again be shaking things up next season, adding new judges. E! News is reporting that the show’s producers have been courting former contestant Adam Lambert. As an Idol runner-up, Lambert would have great insight in what it’s like to compete on the show. It’s been previously reported that Jennifer Lopez will not be returning to the show. As for Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler, everything is up in the air right now.

COLBIE CAILLAT’S CHRISTMAS ALBUM IS ALMOST FINISHED


Colbie Caillat has had a packed summer touring with Gavin DeGraw, but she has somehow managed to squeeze in time to record a Christmas album. The singer tweeted the news this week, saying the effort should be completed in the next two weeks, just in time for a photo-shoot for the effort. We’re not sure what Caillat is calling the record, but she did tweet the hashtag “Christmas In the Sand” with the news, and we think that’d make a great name. BEYONCE’S DAD SAYS NEW DESTINY’S CHILD ALBUM ON THE WAY


They’re back!  We’ve been waiting almost a decade for Beyonce and the rest of the members of the girl-group Destiny’s Child to release new material and it look like the fans are getting their wish.  The band’s manager, Matthew Knowles, also known as Bey’s dad, told The Huffington Post, “We still have our joint venture with Sony, and in November, we’re putting out two Destiny’s Child catalog records with new material.”  Knowles further announced that there will be a reunion tour, but it won’t be for a few years as all three members are currently busy doing their own projects.

NO DOUBT RELEASES TEASER FOR “SETTLE DOWN” VIDEO


Next week, No Doubt will release the video for “Settle Down,” the first song off their upcoming album, Push and Shove, a record that fans have been patiently waiting for since 2001’s Rock Steady. Well it looks like that patience is going to pay off – the group just released a teaser video on their website for “Settle Down” and it looks pretty awesome. There's lots of dancing, big trucks, fireworks and a very hot Gwen Stefani showing us that the 42-year-old mother of two is still a force to be reckoned with. FARM AID 2012 ANNOUNCED


The details surrounding this year’s Farm Aid have been announced and the 2012 edition of the annual event will be held in Hershey, Pennsylvania on September 22nd.  The concert will once again feature performances from Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, Neil Young and Dave Matthews with special guests like Jack Johnson and ALO.  Tickets go on sale on Friday and you can learn more at FarmAid.org.

  • TIDBIT: The first Farm Aid was held in 1985 in Champaign, Illinois.  It featured performances from Mellencamp, Nelson and Young as well as Bon Jovi, The Beach Boys, Johnny Cash, John Fogerty, Foreigner, Sammy Hagar, Billy Joel, Huey Lewis, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty, Eddie Van Halen and many others.

PAUL McCARTNEY TALKS ABOUT HIS VIDEO GAME MUSIC


Earlier this year, Paul McCartney revealed he was working on a video game because they sell better than CDs and this way, young people will hear his music for the first time.  Now, the singer has revealed which game-makers he is working with.  In a tweet, Paul wrote, “I’m really excited to be working on writing music with Bungie, the studio that made Halo.”  There’s no word yet on what kind of music he is doing or for what, but it won’t be on Halo since Bungie doesn’t make the game anymore.  Stay up to date at Twitter.com/PaulMcCartney.

  • TIDBIT: Paul’s likeness was used in the video game The Beatles: Rock Band, which allowed players to perform their favorite tracks by the Fab Four.

SPRINGSTEEN DANCING IN THE DARK WITH DAUGHTER


In the video for “Dancing in the Dark,” Bruce Springsteen famously brings a young Courteney Cox on stage to dance with him, and at his show on Thursday in Paris, The Boss brought another young woman up to dance with him – his daughter, Jessica Springfield.  It’s not the first time Bruce danced with a family member to the song.  He rocked out with his mother at his show in Philadelphia in March.  Video of both performances and dances are online.

  • TIDBIT: Jessica might be staying in Europe for a bit longer too.  The 20-year-old Duke psychology major is a nationally ranked equestrian on the reserve list to compete for the U-S in the London Olympics this summer. 

THE WANTED TO JOIN BIEBER ON TOUR?


Jay McGuiness of the The Wanted told the U-K Daily Record that the group may tour with Justin Bieber in the fall.  No official word has been made, but Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun, is now working with The Wanted.  The group has already toured with Bieber, opening some dates of his My World Tour. Bieber will kick off his Believe Tour in September with Carly Rae Jepsen.  

MARILYN MANSON WON’T DATE AVRIL LAVIGNE BECAUSE SHE’S CANADIAN

For weeks, rumors have been floating around that Avril Lavigne has been dating Marilyn Manson to beef up her rock cred. Manson recently reached out to EntertainmentWise.com to set the record straight, explaining, “Yesterday I read that I was dating Avril Lavigne and I was like 'F**k I wouldn't do that, she's Canadian.' No offense to Canada. I know her, I accidentally shaved her head.” The statement now leaves us with even more questions, like what was does Marilyn Manson have against Canadians, and what was he doing with Avril Lavigne and a pair of hair clippers?

CARRIE & MIKE ENJOY WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

Congratulations to Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher who are celebrating their second wedding anniversary today (7/10).  Carrie and Mike recently spent some time Down Under where they took in some sightseeing during Carrie’s tour stops in Australia. Carrie will kick off her Blown Away tour in the states, on September 14th in Manchester, New Hampshire.

  • RELATED NEWS: Carrie’s video for “Good Girl” has broken the record for most weeks at #1 on CMT’s Top 20 Countdown. The video has spent 14 weeks on top of the chart, more than any other video in the channel’s history.

LILY ALLEN PREGNANT WITH SECOND CHILD


Lily Allen is expecting her second child with husband Sam Cooper.  According to People, Allen “has started telling her friends, and everybody in her close circle is so excited for her.” Although the news has not yet been publicly confirmed, Allen has made a hint on Twitter saying “Thank you for all your congratulations today.  I honestly couldn’t be happier.  Such an honour to be on the list!”  Lily and Sam wed in December, when the singer was eight-months pregnant with their first child.
