ED SHEERAN LOVED WORKING WITH TAYLOR SWIFT

Ed Sheeran thoroughly enjoyed working with Taylor Swift on the follow-up to her hit album, Speak Now. Ed told MTV News that he and Swift worked together to create new material and he found that they have similar musical tastes. Ed also called Taylor a good friend and a pleasure. MTVNews.com has more.

WANTED SINGER DOESN’T WANT PRAISES SUNG

The Wanted singer Max George recently broke up with girlfriend, Michelle Keegan, when reports came out that he was sexting another girl. The other girl turned out to be his ex-girlfriend, Bobbi Anley. To really get back at Max, Bobbi turned to the tabloids to describe the sex life she and Max had during their three year relationship. Max doesn’t like the attention though and feels Bobbi is only telling these stories to make Michelle Keegan feel worse about the breakup.

LADY GAGA CALLS FOR DISNEY MOVIE ABOUT HER

If Lady Gaga gets her way, a new Disney movie could be on the horizon. The singer tweeted a piece of fan art portraying her in the style of a Disney princess like “Cinderella,” adding “Just putting it out there, Disney, can we make this happen?” It is unknown whether Disney actually saw her call to action, but the “You and I” singer already has plenty on her plate with her upcoming fragrance, Fame, and her new album, the details of which will be announced in September.
CARLY RAE JEPSEN TOPS HOT 100 FOR SEVENTH STRAIGHT WEEK

Carly Rae Jepsen’s debut single, “Call Me Maybe,” tops the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the seventh straight week. Maroon 5’s “Payphone” featuring Wiz Khalifa holds at number two for the sixth straight week, Katy Perry’s “Wide Awake” stays at number three, Ellie Goudling’s “Lights” climbs one spot to number four and Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used To Know” featuring Kimbra falls one spot to number five.
- TIDBIT: According to Billboard, Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe” is the longest running number one song by a woman signed to Interscope Records, surpassing Lady Gaga’s six week run at the top with “Born This Way.” The Black Eyed Peas hold the record for Interscope with “I Gotta Feeling,” which topped the Hot 100 for 14 straight weeks back in 2009.
BRUNO MARS AND DEMI LOVATO ROCKET UP THE CHARTS!

Bruno Mars’ breakthrough debut, Doo-Wops & Hooligans, rockets up 124 spots to number 11 on this week’s Billboard album chart. The album sold over 27-thousand copies one week after just selling over three-thousand copies. Demi Lovato’s latest album, Unbroken, leaps 97 spots to number 27 on the chart, selling over 13-thousand copies. One week ago, the effort sold just under four-thousand units. Lovato co-hosted the Teen Choice Awards on Sunday.

JUSTIN BIEBER PAPARAZZO CHARGED IN CAR CHASE

Justin Bieber was chased down the 101 freeway last month by a paparazzo who refused to let the pop sensation get away. Now, that photographer is facing up to one year in county jail and fines up to 35-hundred dollars. The freelance photographer, Paul Raef, faces four misdemeanor charges, including following another vehicle too closely, reckless driving with the intent to capture pictures for commercial gain, reckless driving, and failing to obey the lawful order of a peace officer. Bieber was also given a speeding ticket and subsequently filed a harassment complaint days later against the aggressive paparazzo.
JENNIFER LOPEZ THOUGHT FLO RIDA WAS PERFECT FOR “GOIN’ IN”

Jennifer Lopez’s latest music video for the track “Goin’ In” features Flo Rida and Lil Jon and is on the soundtrack for Step Up Revolution. On the recent TV special MTV First: Jennifer Lopez, the star revealed to Sway Calloway that the song’s half-dance and hard style seemed to fit Flo Rida’s persona, which made him the perfect choice to collaborate with. For Flo, it was an immediate yes and the rapper just felt thrilled and honored to be a part of the song.
CHER LLOYD MAKES U-S TV DEBUT ON AMERICA’S GOT TALENT
Cher Lloyd first took the U-K by storm as a contestant on The X Factor. Now, the 18-year-old British darling is heating up the charts here in the States with her hit single, “Want U Back.” Lloyd performed the song on America’s Got Talent last Wednesday night in a recreation of her music video which ended with the pop tart throwing a milkshake. The song currently holds a top 10 spot on iTunes and will be one of the tracks on her U-S debut album, Sticks and Stones, which drops September 18th.

HOW PATTI SCIALFA MAKES MUSIC

Guitarist Patti Scialfa turns 58 on Sunday. She’s not only a prominent member of the E Street Band, she’s also married to Bruce Springsteen. They’ve made some sweet music together and Patti spoke to us about how they do it.
“Well I think that old fashioned thing of just making music for music’s sake, having nothing to do with the big arm of commerce and just making music because you want to express yourself in that really simple, the pure form of it.”
