MAROON 5’S OVEREXPOSED OUT TODAY!


Maroon 5 are having a great week. They just debuted their video for “One More Night” on MTV First last night (6/25) and today, their latest album, Overexposed, hits stores.  Overexposed is the band’s fourth studio album and besides containing the tune “One More Night,” it also features the hit song “Payphone.”

KATY PERRY OPENS UP ABOUT DIVORCE IN RECENT INTERVIEW


In an extensive interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Katy Perry opened up about her very public and devastating divorce from British comedian Russell Brand. She first made clear that no one knows what happened between the two except herself and Russell, and then went on to describe her the emotional damage stating “what was going on in my personal life was so overwhelming that I had to bend over to let those tears fall straight out of my eye sockets.” Perry also talked about she dealt with the emotional baggage, stating “I had to smack myself across the face and say, 'These problems are my problems, they are not my audience's problems, learn to separate that.’” The songstress also spoke about a variety of other topics in the interview, including her upcoming movie and her beginnings as an artist.  See more at HollywoodReporter.com.

OUTASIGHT GETS READY TO HEAD TO THE STUDIO


Outasight is set to head to the studio in two weeks to work on some new music. The “Tonight Is the Night” singer posted on Twitter that he cannot wait to head back into the studio to record new tracks, saying he thinks he has his “best work ahead of” him. Outasight recently released the song “Now or Never,” which is the second official single off of his upcoming debut album.

PRE-ORDER ALANIS’ EIGHTH STUDIO ALBUM


After a four-year hiatus from music, Alanis Morissette is back, and her latest project, Havoc and Bright Lights, is now available for pre-order on both iTunes and Amazon. Havoc and Bright Lights will be Morissette’s eighth studio album, the follow-up to 2008’s Flavors of Entanglement. The project’s lead single, “Guardian,” premiered on May 11th and is available for purchase online. Havoc and Bright Lights is set to hit shelves on August 28th. At the moment, Morissette is on tour promoting the album overseas.

COLDPLAY POST ACOUSTIC VERSION OF “PRINCESS OF CHINA” FEATURING RIHANNA


With the wave of success British rock band Coldplay has been riding from their latest album, Mylo Xyloto, still running high, the group decided to release an acoustic version of the album’s fourth single, “Princess of China.” The song, which features R&B star Rihanna, can now be heard with strictly acoustics, thanks to a video the group posted yesterday (6/25) onto their VEVO page. Earlier this month, a video was released for the hit single, depicting frontman Chris Martin as a ninja. To date, Mylo Xyloto has sold over five-million copies worldwide.

FLO RIDA LIES TO JUDGE, ORDERED TO PAY $7000


Flo Rida has been ordered to pay seven-thousand dollars for lying to a judge. According to PerezHilton.com, the rapper is trying to defend himself from allegations by former assistant Mahogany Miller, who is claiming that he underpaid her even after tons of hard work.  After failing to respond to the judge on time, Flo Rida attempted to make a cover up story, saying that the court papers were sent to someone he didn’t know named Stephany Nelson.  However, it turns out that Nelson is an employee of his.

USHER, BACKSTREET BOYS, JENNIFER HUDSON AND MORE TO GET STARS ON HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME


The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced the 24 honorees that will be given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next year.  According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 2013 class includes Usher, the Backstreet Boys, New Kids on the Block, Jennifer Hudson and rockers Jane’s Addiction as well as Luther Vandross and Janis Joplin, who will both be honored posthumously.  Javier Bardem, Viola Davis, James Franco, Helen Mirren and Ron Howard will also be immortalized with a star on the Walk of Fame in 2013.  

  • TIDBIT: Other honorees include Simon Baker, Bryan Cranston, Ellen DeGeneres, Jane Lynch, Katey Sagal, Matthew Perry and Steve Harvey.

 

CARRIE UNDERWOOD PLAYS TOURIST IN AUSTRALIA

Carrie Underwood is living it up in Australia, as she has landed Down Under for a series of shows.  It’s not the singer’s first trip to the land of Oz, but she admits she’s on a mission for some sightseeing. Carrie’s husband, Mike Fisher, is along for the trip and has been tweeting all about their Australian fun! Carrie performs tonight (6/26) at the Palais Theatre in Victoria, Australia.

  • RELATED NEWS: Carrie will head to Boston, Massachusetts on July 31st to take part in her first-ever CMA Songwriters Series at Royale in Boston’s Theatre District.  The singer will be joined by co-writers Brett James, Luke Laird and Hillary Lindsey, who have all written some of Carrie’s biggest hits such as “Last Name,” “Cowboy Casanova,” “Temporary Home,” and her first-ever number one, “Jesus Take The Wheel.”

KINGS OF LEON’S CALEB FOLLOWILL IS A DAD

Congratulations are in order for Kings of Leon frontman Caleb Followill. He and his wife welcomed baby girl Dixie Pearl into the world last Thursday. This is the first baby for Caleb and his wife, Lily Aldridge, a Victoria’s Secret model. Kings of Leon have been keeping a low profile since cancelling part of their U-S tour last year after Caleb appeared to be heavily intoxicated at a Dallas show and told the audience he “was going to vomit, drink a beer, and return to play three more songs.” He never returned to the stage and the band ended up canceling the show.
