MADONNA IS MOST PLAYED ARTIST OF DECADE

It may not come as a big surprise, but it was just announced that Madonna was the most played artist in the U-K during the last decade. According to BBC News, the “Like a Prayer” singer beat out Brits The Beatles and Robbie Williams, who came in second and third respectively. The list was based on plays on radio, TV and in public places too, including bars and restaurants, from 2000 through 2009. Madonna was the only female solo artist to make the top ten.

EIGHTH GRADERS COVER SHINEDOWN

Students from a music school in Ohio have covered a Shinedown track. The kids recorded their version of “The Sound Of Madness” at the Saint Claire Recording Company in Lexington, Kentucky. The students are all in the eighth grade and performed the rock song only five times. Fans can check out a video of their cover now on YouTube.

THREE FANS TO INTERVIEW MUSE

MySpace is offering Muse fans a dream opportunity. The site is running a competition to find fans to interview the trio for the social networking site. SingersRoom.com reports Rihanna is reportedly scheduled to perform her new single, "Te Amo," on American Idol. The songstress will take stage tomorrow night at 8 PM Eastern during the elimination episode of FOX’s hit show. However, don’t expect the “Rude Boy” entertainer to mentor the contestants – she’s just there to do what she does best.

WEEZER ANNOUNCE MORE U-S SHOWS

Weezer has announced a few more tour dates for 2010. The band is set to play the Mile High Music Festival on August 15th in Denver. Tickets for the event go on sale on April 10th. The group will also play the Reading and Leeds Festivals in England this summer. The band hasn’t played in the U-K since 2005 during their Make Believe Tour.
