GAGA’S BIG NIGHT IN LONDON
Lady Gaga cleaned up at Tuesday night’s Brit Awards in London, taking home trophies in all three categories she was nominated in, including Best International Female Artist. Gaga also performed two songs at the event, dedicating them to her fallen friend, designer Alexander McQueen, and also said his name again on stage while accepting one of her awards.

KATY PERRY TO DESIGN SHOES?
Is Katy Perry set to become a shoe designer? According to the New York Post, the “I Kissed a Girl” singer was offered one-million dollars to collaborate with Steve Madden. When asked for comment, Perry’s rep said that she is “working on her next album, not a shoe line.” No word yet on when we can expect her sophomore record.
JESSICA SIMPSON TALKS ABOUT JOHN MAYER
John Mayer has certainly been doing enough talking about Jessica Simpson lately, but now, the former Newlyweds star is answering back. In an interview with Allure magazine, Simpson was asked if Mayer was the reason that she changed her hair color to brunette in 2006. Lily Allen won the Brit Award for Best Female Solo Artist, and the singer-songwriter is calling it the perfect end to her career. Allen has been saying for a while now that she is going to stop making music to focus on other endeavors, and she hasn’t changed her tune. According to www.ContactMusic.com, Lily said after the show that winning hasn’t derailed her plans to quit, and that it was a “perfect way to say goodbye.”
MADONNA TO LAUNCH FASHION LINE
According to www.AccessHollywood.com, Madonna is reportedly looking to launch her first clothing line exclusively through Macy’s. The pop icon wants to provide different options in apparel, accessories, underwear and shoes for customers, but she can’t decide if the line should be called Material Girl or Truth Or Dare. The deal hasn’t been signed yet.
MICHAEL FRANTI IS HARD AT WORK
Michael Franti is out on tour with John Mayer right now, but that doesn’t mean it’s going to stop him from working on the follow-up album to his hit record All Rebel Rockers. The “Say Hey (I Love You)” singer wrote on his Twitter that he and his band setup their “recording computer in the dressing room” to work on their new material. BEYONCE "VIDEO PHONE" BANNED IN GERMANY
www.SingersRoom.com reports Beyonce’s “Video Phone” clip has reportedly been banned from all media outlets and sources in Germany. The video wasn’t prohibited due to the sexual imagery, rather it was because Beyonce was wearing copyright infringing underwear. Apparently, the black and white outfit Bey dons in the clip is a direct copy of the original design created by Iskren Lozanov.
“WE ARE THE WORLD” BOWS AT NUMBER TWO
“We Are the World: 25 for Haiti” will debut at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, just days after the all-star charity single premiered during the televised opening of the Vancouver Winter Olympics. The song, a remake of the Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie-powered original, was only bested by Ke$ha's "Tik Tok," which tops the chart for the ninth straight week.
NO SONG PERFORMANCES AT OSCARS
Sometimes, the best part of the Academy Awards is watching the performances of the Best Original Song nominees. However, this year there won’t be any performances. Instead, according to New York Magazine, the five nominated tracks will be shown during montages of the films they appear in. This is even a step down from last year when all five nominated tracks were combined into one melody. The Oscars air on ABC on March 7th.
