SHERYL CROW TALKS WORKING WITH JT
Sheryl Crow worked with Justin Timberlake on her new album 100 Miles from Memphis, and she spoke to the Associated Press about how she got the pop star to come in to the studio. Crow said that because she recorded her album in the southern city, she was able to “drag” him in to do a song, and that wouldn’t have been possible if she was “working from home” in Los Angeles. PWT’S ON THE TONIGHT SHOW
The Plain White T’s are going to debut a brand new song on The Tonight Show. It’s titled “Rhythm of Love” and according to a press release, the band shot the video for it in Los Angeles earlier in the month. Be sure to check out The Tonight Show on August 5th to watch the PWT’s performance.
POP SINGER KE$HA INSPIRED BY COUNTRY MUSIC
Nashville native pop singer Ke$ha recently spoke to Paper Magazine about the influence country music and her mother have had on her career. Ke$ha said, “I'm really inspired by country music — my mom wrote country music — and I love Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash. I think at some point there might be some country collaborations or records in the future.” Kesha’s mother, Pebe, wrote “Old Flames Can't Hold a Candle to You,” which Dolly Parton recorded.
GLEEFUL TEEN CHOICE AWARDS
The men of Glee are co-hosting this year’s Teen Choice Awards alongside Katy Perry. Cory Monteith, Mark Salling, Chris Colfer and Kevin McHale are all helping the songstress this Monday night at 7 PM on FOX. Sandra Bullock, Robert Pattinson and Ashley Greene will also appear on the show.
RIHANNA TO STAR IN UPCOMING ACTION FLICK!
According to Variety, Rihanna is gearing up for her first feature film. The pop princess has reportedly signed on to appear in an action film called Battleship. Alongside True Blood’s Alexander Skarsgard and Taylor Kitsch, she will assist in attempting to save the planet from an alien invasion. Ri Ri's acting credentials include her recent SNL skit with Adam Samberg and portraying herself in 2006's Bring It On: All Or Nothing. Hancock's Peter Berg will direct the film, which is slated for a May 2012 release.
