U2 POSTPONE ENTIRE TOUR TILL 2011

 

Due to Bono’s recent emergency back surgery, U2 has announced that their upcoming tour has been postponed to 2011. Bono has been ordered by doctors to recuperate for at least eight weeks. The doctor who performed the operation says Bono was suffering severe pain and partial paralysis in his lower leg before the surgery. According to a statement from the band, “Bono is now much better, with complete recovery of his motor deficit. The prognosis is excellent, but to obtain a sustainable result, he must now enter a period of rehabilitation." Visit www.U2.com for information on the rescheduled dates.

 

MADONNA TO REPLACE SIMON ON IDOL?

 

Could Madonna be the next judge of American Idol? They are only rumors, but a source told British paper The Sun that the Queen of Pop could be in line to replace Simon Cowell, who will judge his last episode of the hit reality series tonight. The source said, “Everyone agrees Madge would be great and they want her as a full-time judge. But if that fails they’d at least like her as a mentor.” Cowell recently told Oprah Winfrey on her show that all he wants in a replacement is someone that “actually knows what they’re talking about.”

 

BRITNEY SPEARS RULES TWITTER

 

Britney Spears is officially the Queen of Twitter. The pop star has surpassed Ashton Kutcher as the most followed person on the social networking site, having close to five-million followers. BRITNEY WANTS TO BE FROZEN?

 

Does Britney Spears want to be frozen after she dies? According to British paper The Sun, a friend of the pop star said that Brit “gets these obsessions and this is the latest,” and that it has to with Walt Disney wanting to preserve his body using cryogenics. The source went on, saying that she may even invest as much as 350-thousand dollars for the chance to live sometime later in the future.

BON JOVI EXHIBIT IN LONDON

 

A Bon Jovi exhibition is coming to London. JACK JOHNSON EXPERIMENTS WITH TO THE SEA

 

Next week, Jack Johnson releases his new album, To the Sea, and fans can expect it to be a little different than his previous efforts. Johnson told Rolling Stone that he wrote “meatier riffs” this time around, worked with vintage keyboards, and was inspired by Jack White. While some may have heard Christina Aguilera's Bionic album in its entirety due to the early leak this week, Rap-Up.com has gotten their hands on a new song called “Elastic Love.” The cut was co-written by M.I.A. and is expected to appear on Bionic, which will arrive on June 8th.

BASEBALL HALL OF FAME TO HONOR FOGERTY

 

Most baseball players are familiar with John Fogerty’s 1985 hit “Centerfield” and because of that, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer will be honored by the National Baseball Hall of Fame. The Cooperstown, New York sports fixture will commemorate the song and its eponymous album’s 25th anniversary at this year’s induction ceremony. The Creedence Clearwater Revival singer will perform the track at the event, which will be the first time a musician or song has ever been honored in such a way. Fogerty is also donating his custom-made baseball bat-shaped guitar for display in the museum. It all happens on July 25th.
