This morning at 11 o'clock the famous swinging bridge at Jay Cooke State Park will officially be back open. The bridge was destroyed by flooding back on June 21st, 2012. I was at the park just two days prior to all the rain and flooding, so it was quite the shock to find out it was gone. The top picture I took standing on the bridge that day, and the bottom is what it looked like when it was washed away.
Here is the new bridge that will officially be dedicated this morning. The DNR also has an interesting history of the bridge you can find here .
