Indianapolis (WIBQ)-Gas prices across Indiana and Illinois continued to drop last week. According to indianagasprices.com the average retail price fell 1.9 cents per gallon. While that may sound good for your pocketbook, many economists believe low oil prices may signal a longer recession, a slower recovery and higher unemployment. Prices are expected to remain low, but; continuing problems in the Gulf of Mexico, where oil gushes unabated from a broken well on the sea floor, or even a hurricane in that region that would effect other oil rigs could send gas prices skyrocketing. The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is now $2.55.
