HUDSON, Wis. (WTAQ) - Another long-time Wisconsin legislator is hanging it up. Assembly Republican Kitty Rhoades of Hudson told supporters in a letter that she won’t run for re-election this fall. That makes 9 incumbents in the 99 member Assembly who won’t be returning – and 7 are minority Republicans. 2 senators have also said they’ll step down. The 58-year-old Rhoades was first elected in 1998. When the GOP ran the Assembly, Rhoades co-chaired the powerful Joint Finance Committee. She lost that post when voters put Democrats in the majority in the 2008 elections.
