(Minneapolis, MN)  --  Gerald Laird's 13th-inning homer was the difference as the Tigers trimmed the Twins 10-9 to avoid a three-game sweep at Target Field.  Danny Valencia and Jose Morales had three hits and two RBI apiece for the Twins, who now lead the White Sox by three-and-a-half games for first place in the AL Central.  Nick Blackburn, who was scheduled to start today, was charged with the loss after allowing Laird's shot in the 13th. The Twins begin a three-game series with the Rangers tonight at Target Field.  First-pitch is at 7:10 p.m.
