ST. PAUL, MN (KDAL) - Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton and Republican leaders have reached a tentative budget deal that, when approved by the legislature, would end the government shutdown that began on July 1st.  Dayton agreed to drop his demands for a tax hike on the highest wage earners and the GOP leaders withdrew the devisive social issues that they inserted in spending bills and also backed off a proposal to cut the state workforce by 15 percent.  The governor and legislative leaders met over the weekend to fill in details on the budget deal and a special session of the legislature will not be called until all bills have been reviewed and agreed on.  Meanwhile, the state government shutdown continues.
