A federal grand jury today unsealed an indictment containing 54 charges against Last Place on Earth owner Jim Carlson and three employees. The indictment alleges Carlson and Lava Marie Haugen, Joseph James Gellerman and Jamie Paul Anderson committed violations of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, the Controlled Substances Act, and the Controlled Substances Analogue Enforcement Act. The four were charged with numerous crimes, including conspiracy to commit violations of the FDCA and conspiracy to distribute controlled substance analogues.

Jeanne Cooney of the U. S. Attorney's Office in Minneapolis, told KDAL the case will likely be monitored closely by law enforcement agencies across the country.
