Duluth, MN (KDAL) - The year that ends today has seen record revenue from mining activity, to the tune of $51 million according to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. That's a 44 percent increase over last year's $35.5 million, which also had set a record. Ninety-seven percent of that revenue came from iron ore, with other metallic minerals, peat and industrial minerals generating the rest.
