Since revealing details of her personal struggles, including eating disorders and cutting, Demi Lovato is proving she's got true survivor's grit. On Tuesday, the singer-actress took to Twitter to share news of her upcoming MTV special, Stay Strong. Demi tweeted to her fans, " Lovatics-I wanted to tell you FIRST about a special I worked on with @MTV. It premieres March 6th at 10pm!! #staystrong." The tweet also included a powerful image of Demi's hands and wrists, tattooed with the words "Stay" and "Strong."
Of course, staying strong hasn't always been easy for Demi, who spoke about her childhood struggles with bulimia and anorexia with the UK publication Daily Mail . A binge eater since the age of eight, Demi told the paper, "I was born with an eating disorder... I’ve never had a relationship with food that was normal." In 2011 when Demi entered rehab, she said she was "very sick but luckily I got the help I needed."
Demi also told the paper, "Now, I can eat as many meals as I am supposed to and not throw up any more. There’s definitely temptation -- every meal I fight it. It’s an addiction and I’m going to have to fight it for the rest of my life... But I definitely have a lot more confidence than I did a year ago."
