ST. PAUL, MN (KDAL) - The Minnesota State Senate has rejected Governor Mark Dayton's appointment of Ellen Anderson as chair of the state Public Utilities Commission. The vote on Monday followed party lines with all 37 GOP senators voting against the nomination. Governor Dayton said the Republican senators "showed once again that they are unfit to govern this state." Republican Senator Julie Rosen of Fairmont says Anderson would have tried to put up roadblocks to any new nuclear power plants in Minnesota as the PUC chair.
