ST. PAUL, MN (KDAL) - The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has finalized the rules and details for a wolf hunting and trapping season this fall and winter. Public input has resulted in some changes to the original proposal announced in May. Among the changes is a wolf range that will be divided into three zones for the purpose of harvest targets and season closures. The state's first regulated wolf hunt will be split into two parts, an early hunting season that coincides with the firearms deer season starting November 3rd and a later hunting and trapping season that ends on January 31st. A lottery will be held to select wolf hunt participants and more information can be found on the Minnesota DNR website.
