GRAND FORKS, ND (KDAL) - A lack of snow and an early spring without much rain have kept the Red River at bay this year. The National Weather Service predicts the Red at Fargo-Moorhead will crest on Monday six inches under flood stage at 17 and a half feet. The last several years have seen significant flooding in the area including 2009 when the river crested 41 feet over flood stage.
