Election Day + One


Duluth, MN (KDAL) - The day after the election and here are the results in a snap shot; President Obama is STILL President Obama, Amy Klobuchar is back in Washington representing Minnesota in the Senate, Wisconsin has a new Senator, Tammy Baldwin defeated former Governor Thommy Thompson.  She becomes the first woman to represent Wisconsin in the Senate and the first openly gay female Senator.

While Sean Duffy is going back to the House of Representatives, Chip Cravaak is not.  The one term Congressman was defeated by former Congressman Rick Nolan.  It was close, Nolan couldn't make his acceptance speech until one fifteen this morning.

The numbers are back in local races and incumbents Murphy, Huntley and Reinert were winners.  Eric Simonson, another Democrat, will join them in St. Paul. 

In the races for St. Louis County; Steve O'Neil and Chris Dahlberg were winners, Peg Sweeney was defeated by challenger Pete Stauber in the fifth district.
