Bayfield, WI (KDAL) - Despite some cooler than expected temperatures and winds that made the air feel colder than it was, people turned out as they always do for the Annual Bayfield Apple Festival. Tens of thousands of people visited that South Shore Community for all things apples, including the big parade yesterday afternoon.
Officials say the event capped off a very strong summer season in Bayfield. Weather in our area could not have been better for tourists and revenue from Duluth's Hotel/Motel tax through the end of July proves the point. Many hotels reported record occupancy in August and September.
