Duluth, MN (KDAL) - There was a rally yesterday at the steps of the Civic Center in downtown Duluth over a case of alleged police brutality. Members of the Native American Community were upset with actions by a thirty-five year old Duluth police officer following the release of a video tape showing the beat down of a fifty year old man as he was being checked into detox. The suspect is fifty year old Anthony Jackson, the officer is Richard Jouppi.
Currently he is charged with fifth degree assault, a misdemeanor. Those at the rally yesterday wanted those charges raised to the felony level.
