Duluth, MN (KDAL) - MN Negotiations yesterday resulted in a contract agreement late on Wednesday afternoon between workers for Cliffs Natural Resources an miners at taconite plants in Northern Minnesota and Michigan. About twenty-five hundred employees are covered by the deal, which still must be approved by the union's rank and file.
Part of the deal calls for a three thousand dollar signing bonus per employee. Raises would come in years two and three of the three year deal. Cliffs is the last mining company on the Range to reach a deal with its workers. They continued on the job even thought their old contract had expired.
