(KDAL) - Duluth Police will join Hermantown, Proctor and UMD Police, the St. Louis County Sheriff's Department and the Minnesota State Patrol in starting a crackdown on unbelted drivers and passengers. The "Click It Or Ticket" enhanced seatbelt enforcement effort will run through the end of the month. Unbelted motorists have represented a significant amount of traffic fatalities in the state over the last two years and many could have been prevented had the victim been wearing a seatbelt. In a crash, the chance of an injury is 6 times greater for those not buckled up. The cost of a ticket for not wearing a seatbelt is about 115 dollars.
