DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - On Sunday, scientists from UMD's Natural Resources Research Institute will be showing how earthworms are negatively impacting native hardwood forests in northern Minnesota. The Great Lakes Worm Watch will hold the discussion and demonstration from 10 a-m to 2 p-m at the Moose Mountain Scientific and Natural Area on Highway 61 and the Lester River Road. The Worm Watch program is a volunteer citizen science project where participants will be trained in scientific research methods to document the distribution of non-native earthworms and their impacts on the region.
