DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - The Northland Foundation has awarded 33 grants totaling over 150 thousand dollars in the first quarter of 2013. Among the grants to benefit non profit and community organizations in the area was 30 thousand dollars to the Damiano Center to help support its on-site meal program. The center served over 125 thousand meals to those in need last year. Community Action Duluth received 15 thousand dollars to provide free income tax preparation for low income residents. The Northland Foundation also granted 12 thousand dollars to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Duluth to support marketing and development.
