Duluth, MN (KDAL) - Same sex marriage in Minnesota is now legal and several couples in Duluth became the first to tie the knot just after midnight this morning.  Wedding officiants John Goldfine and Reverend Jill Bianchet married five couples just after the stroke of midnight, when Minnesota’s new law allowing same sex marriage took effect.  Goldfine, a retired boat captain, has married more than 200 couples in about 25 years.  He chose to offer his services free of charge for those who wanted to be married first, as well as to help those who couldn’t afford a wedding or who had no support from their family.
