DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - The votes are in and the winning name for the Caribbean Reef octopus at the Great Lakes Aquarium in Duluth has been chosen. Visitors to the Aquarium's Facebook page were given the names of five famous scientists to choose from and the overwhelming favorite was Cousteau. Many of the voters commented that it was the logical choice given Jacques Cousteau's fame as a marine explorer, scientist, researcher and filmmaker. The other options were Galileo, Newton, Curie and Beatrix. The scientist theme was chosen by the Aquarium staff since the octopus is the most intelligent of all invertebrates.
