UNDATED (KDAL) - Monday is considered to be the busiest day for online shopping with plenty of deals being offered by merchants for those ordering via the internet. Experts say online sales on Cyber Monday will be bigger than last year which was up 30 percent from the year before. One day sales on Cyber Monday in 2012 hit nearly 2 billion dollars nationwide and seasonal sales totaled 42.3 billion. Along with the deals, shoppers need to be aware of a variety of scams out there. The Wisconsin Department of Consumer Protection advises you to shop on legitimate sites and keep in mind thieves can create websites that mimic the real ones. Make sure you are using a secure site before entering any banking or personal information. It is also a good idea to update anti-virus software and firewalls before beginning your cyber shopping.
