Duluth, MN (KDAL) - Year-to-date cargo shipments on the Great Lakes are down. The St. Lawrence Seaway says shipments from March 22nd through November 30th were 33 million metric tons. That’s six-percent lower than this same time in 2012. Iron ore shipments were down seven-percent in November. On the brighter side, grain shipments are higher than they were a year ago. One-point-four million metric tons of grain moved in the system last month, which is a 17-percent increase from 2012.
