Duluth, MN (KDAL) - Minnesota has a rich tradition of bringing home GRAMMY Awards. Sunday night, not so much.
The Andrew Sisters were inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1996. Bill Berg of Duluth is there too, he is the former drummer for R.E.M. From Albert Lee there's Eddie Cochran who wrote the hit song "Summer Time Blues". He got a GRAMMY and was inducted into the Hall of Fame the same year as Buddy Holly. Then there's Bob Dylan, Jimmy Jam and Prince, all GRAMMY winners. Now the best we've got is the Okee Dokee Brothers...and they're not even brothers.
A pair of Twin Cities musicians earned a GRAMMY Award last night. The Okee Dokee Brothers were honored for the best children's album for the year entitled "Can You Canoe?" It's based on a canoe trip the pair made down the Mississippi River.
Currently the duo plays Library Parking lots and are hoping that with the GRAMMY they will be able to bigger library parking lots in the future.
