DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - Duluth Police were called to the 100 block of East 1st Street late Wednesday morning concerning an attempted car theft from the night before. The victim's vehicle was rummaged through and un-driveable because of damage done to the ignition area. After checking images from surveillance cameras, a male suspect was seen entering the vehicle around midnight and spent about 20 minutes inside before leaving on foot. The investigating officer recognized the suspect from past contact as a 33 year old Duluth man. He was located a short time later on North 2nd Avenue East and arrested. The suspect is in the St. Louis County Jail awaiting formal charging for attempted motor vehicle theft and vehicle tampering.
